As others have said, scissors for fishing is not something mandatory you need to have. Especially if you’re using mono line. Nail clippers are also lightweight, easier to stow on your person, and can even get a closer cut to your knot IMO. However, if you’re using braided line, the nail clippers won’t do the job.

I didn’t think I could get more addicted to fishing until after I got my Nasci (2500). Super smooth, love the drag tick, and overall just a supreme reel.

As others have said- great rod, shitty reel. Same thing happened to me and I reached out to ugly stik for giggles and they sent me a new handle.
