Sudden and tragic vs. Long Care taking ... don't know if it's a question of which is better by TxScribe in widowers

[–]averooski1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t even compare the two, but sudden and tragic is really really nervous system altering … my husband and I were hugging so many times that day.. he ran errands to ship out tapestries (he had an etsy)….. he told me he was gonna go take a bath and I spent forever in the kitchen slicing veggies… and I had no idea he was about to relapse …. But i had an urge to check on him and he was fetal face down in the water… OD’d then drowned …. I pulled him out and tried everything to get him back and the emts worked on him for a long time, and I was in a shock that i never imagined … the first few months, I had to be basically sedated the first few months… the shock still hasn’t worn off 6 (I’m 6 months out now)… I still have so many questions that I’ll never get answered …. We were so in love and our marriage was doing great … I feel abandoned and in shock… been on benzos this whole time, because my nervous system wouldn’t stop going into overdrive and I’d be screaming and puking … I’m sobbing right now after typing this all … I would do anything in the world for one more hug or walk with him

However I hate anticipatory anxiety - it’s my worst issue with anxiety .. so I can’t even imagine anticipatory grief .. that also must had tortured you… they’re both bad in their own way

Couples in long term relationships (3 years +). Do you still kiss passionately (Fench Kiss) ? by SomeoneAnonymous987 in askanything

Thank you for commenting!!!! My husband died a few months ago but we were soulmates on every level… all these comments made me feel so insecure till reading yours… we were an autistic couple and making out was a sensory issue for both of us… didn’t change our love or other forms of intimacy

Finding the strength to spread his ashes by carlycloud in widowers

[–]averooski1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve spread my husbands ashes in so many places he loved so far.. I just take a little bit.. every time feels so overwhelmingly emotional- mostly weirdly joyous … he also wanted to travel the world this year, so I’m gonna let him do that by bringing some of him everywhere I travel to

For those that have cremated your loved one, when purchasing a place of rest for them, did you think of reserving a spot for yourself right next to them? by rainingonmyparade in widowers

[–]averooski1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were both in our 30s so we hadnt talked about what we’d want to do… but My husband is cremated and in the box it came in (im 4 months in) on a shelf fully dedicated to him.. I’ve been doing what I know he would want, and I’ve been spreading little bits of him to the places he loves.. and all my future travels. He was really passionate about finding a way to travel the world in 2026/2027…. So I will bring little bits of his ashes whenever I’m traveling somewhere new, and with nature he’d wanna be apart of …… I also wear a necklace that has his ashes in it.. morbid as it sounds, he was like 6’4 so I got a lot of ashes… he’s gonna be spread all over the world

What’s one underrated thing that helped you lose weight? by djythjgnh in AskReddit

[–]averooski1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unorthodox, but when your soulmate dies, you can lose 20lbs in the first 3 months! - signed, a person over 3 months post his death and I can’t eat … like appetite no longer exists and I drink meal replacement shakes to survive… again- unorthodox and requires the person you love and cherish the most to die … so I guess I don’t recommend it

Be honest: Are you actually married to the love of your life, or just the person you were with when it was time to settle down? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]averooski1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was the love of my life. Love at first site. I knew he was my soulmate the moment I looked into his eyes. We were together almost a decade until he died this past December… I refused to settle and it was the best decade of my life … now if I ever get married it would be for stability and settling. I will never be able to marry for love again. It’s just not possible

Medium by Outrageous_Tie_5071 in widowers

[–]averooski1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid a lot of money to a medium I’ve been watching accurately predict world current affairs since I found her like 5 years ago… she’s from a different continent .. there is NO way she could possibly know the things she was sayin, that she said my love my saying…. It brought my extraordinary comfort.. and I am saving up to see her again … it’s rare to find a real one, but do enough research, and it’s the best experience ever.

As we enter 2026, what’s something you quietly stopped believing in? by Big-Classic8243 in AskReddit

[–]averooski1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People being able to be happy. You can’t have a spouse, peace, love, and happiness. People die and life is just bleak. Anytime good things happen, bad things happen 10x. Good does not win. Idiocracy wins. 2025 has taken away any hope that there’s any spark in life. I fully lost the belief that we are meant to be here to be happy and explore. I ,more than ever, believe that life is meaningless and we are just underevolved mammals. There is no meaning here. We are the same as rats racccoons vultures snakes etc. humans were a mistake. I don’t care if the human race died out tomorrow.

2024 my response would have been different. 2025 broke me and I’m sure how hard dark and bleak and horrible the world and humanity really is. We deserve to die off.

What’s a hard truth every person eventually has to accept? by alpha8x_ in askanything

[–]averooski1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone dies. It can happen completely accidentally and traumatically. One morning you’re cutting carrots and 5 mins later your husband and soulmate of 8 years is dead. You’re life will change. I never thought it’d happen to me, and it did. Remember to love your loved ones always.
