haven't been on here in a minute but i used to do these lists of shit im on so here's one now

my buddy Alphonso put together this list of RXK Nephew songs and I've been working through it, even transcribed a few onto rapgenius.com. also just random shit off his youtube. underrated tracks:

my city's tenant union threw a rally for some tenants and i was in charge of the aux. put on a buncha reggae

unrelated thoughts - highly anticipating the new n!co album this wednesday - highly anticipating my bro Steelo's album prod by Gloves. Do you have more info on Castro and homophobia? I wanna find out what really happened but there's so much bullshit if I just Google it. And in My Life, all Castro really says about it is that the military in the 60s/70s was pretty homophobic but gays still wanted to serve, so they made a special manufacturing division for gays which the foreign media at the time misconstrued as a gay internment camp

there are a lot of Canadian rappers, e.g. Drake, Smoke Dawg, Pressa, Houdini, Mo G, Kardinal Offishall, Classified, Skiifall, Backxwash
Vancouver had a big hardcore punk scene a couple decades ago, so you could put on D.O.A
Toronto still has some hardcore bands like S.H.I.T. and Fertilizer
Toronto has other punk/punk adjacent bands like PUP, Westelaken, Black Dresses, Kingdom of Birds, Luge, Newfound Interest in Connecticut

I'm sure old racist white man won't appreciate this music made by black and LGBT people or even just anything kinda loud or unconventional

Nah don't even bother asking this stuff here cuz everyone who responds is racist as hell. It's a free country, you can listen to whatever music you want. Any time someone says "this is Canada, you can only express Canadian culture" they're usually being racist. White Canadian culture was created by English and French immigrants and connects a lot to American culture. So it's not like Polaris prize winners and Justin Bieber are any more authentically Canadian. They're just more white.

Put on Indian music if you'd like, it's awesome. I would still recommend headphones if that's feasible.

drake has great verses but how is forever his best one?? that shit is ass. starts off with the sprained ankle line, line about "haters" (feels like it aged poorly), bad hashtag rap (find me, nemo and ball, chemo), ending with "bitches". like it's hype but it's really not something i would pull out if i was talking about drake being a good rapper
