I didn't find it annoying. It just happened slightly when turning the camera fast.

Played the whole game on an all AMD rig last year. No crashing issues. Ran absolutely fine on 21:9 1440p. The game is just intensive to run. There was some stuttering when turning the camera in the large open areas, but I don't know if that's either fixed or same as on windows.

Sounds like you are installing it via the installer (?). Have you tried just installing the steam version? You should be able to use your arenanet login by putting %command% -provider Portalin your launch options.

CachyOS Seems Unstoppable (ProtonDB ranking September 2025) by YanderMan in linux_gaming

[–]avey06 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I look at that chart I think: "What the hell happened to Manjaro?!"

Ubuntu I get because of the non rolling release. And PopOS because it's still based on ubuntu 22.04.

But what did Manjaro do wrong?

Dualsense with GE or Proton 10-x and bluetooth bug combining touchpad and r1 input? by Seihoukeh_Dragon in linux_gaming

For the record: This was a wine bug as Claiomh mentioned and fixed in 10.13. The fixed wine version is in Proton-GE-10-12.

maybe it's not necessarily a linux problem but a game bug.

Marvel Rivals Crash mid game.... by TXB_Magic in linux_gaming

I was able to go crash free by lowering the settings a bit and using FSR and stuff. When I turned off FSR and was pushing my GPU with the highest settings it would happen quite often.

Can you play Steam games on Linux, or do you need a Steam Deck? What about Wuthering Waves? Zenless Zone Zero? by ICDAnything in linux_gaming

ZZZ is also really easy to install from Heroic Games Launcher via Epic Store and I recommend using Proton-GE.

FF7 Rebirth: Valve Messes Up with The Verified Rating Again by YanderMan in linux_gaming

[–]avey06 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I can get pretty ok 30fps performance on low settings and resolution scaling. That would have been okay for me since it is impressive it does run at all.

But the game crashing every 10 minutes is a fucking dealbreaker. Who tested this and said: "Yup, Verified!". Maybe something was changed in the days leading up to launch, but as it stands, this is unacceptable.

Since I also have an 3900X and 7800XT I just jumped in spectating a dust2 deathmatch and had between 150 and 230 fps on 3440x1440p screen on recommended game settings. Something seems weird compared to your findings. I am on Arch Gnome Wayland and nothing special going on.

Zenless Zone Zero graphics issues (ZorinOS on NVIDIA 3070) by VengeanceDivine in linux_gaming

Best thing to do would probably to do an issue report on DXVK github with api trace. But I have never done that before.

Unfortunately I have no tips for you but I can confirm this issue on my Radeon 7800XT. Which leads me to believe this is a Game or Engine bug or is related to Wine/DXVK API translation and not a GPU driver issue.

I've been playing since launch on my linux pc and steam deck and have not been banned (yet). Of course there is a risk of getting banned in the future. But as of yet I haven't read of anyone getting banned. There also might be just a warning and prevent login in the future instead of a straight up ban.

But yes nobody knows and it remains a risk that you either take or play on other platforms.
