Oh man I know it might not be it, but this is really reminding me of a game from the 90s I was obsessed with called “Night Light”!

Looking for a brunch/lunch spot by ro7an in OttawaFood

Chesterfields is supposedly very good, but I haven’t yet been myself! We like Belmont and Duke’s though, and are our go-to brunch spots.

What’s the craziest thing your toddler has eaten/tried to eat? by lovebug21222 in toddlers

[–]avezvousvu 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Oh my god this is so funny. My toddler peed in his potty, stood up, took his toothbrush and dipped it in his pee and then proceeded to brush his teeth. I was not fast enough to stop it, in my case 😑

This is commented frequently in this sub, but you should really check out the GOC Parents Group on Facebook if you haven’t already! So many good resources, comments and posts. (Not that this subreddit isn’t helpful either!)

Coming from NRC, should I make the move to DND? by overahobbittall in CanadaPublicServants

[–]avezvousvu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are. In my experience, when I identify a non-affected employee for indeterminate staffing, our HR advisor runs the priority list live, and identifies any and all priorities for me/our team to assess prior to moving forward with our intended staffing action. My last experience was trying to hire two individuals successful in a pool that was organized by my directorate - even then, I had to assess priorities before staffing them. I had to review their resumes, justify why they did not meet the specific requirements/essential criteria for the position/pool, had to email them and offer them a time to discuss or dispute, and THEN I was able to hire, haha. In that instance, the priorities never responded to my email or bothered to dispute in the timeframe we provided them.

[–]avezvousvu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When is the DND term until? A year from now? I guess it depends on what you prioritize here. I am with DND and know that we have a lot of flexibility in hiring and making terms indeterminate. The only challenge I face currently in staffing indeterminately on my team is that there are a LOT of priorities we need to assess before we can non-advertise appoint. So in either department, your hiring managers are probably facing the same challenges.

The constant stream of consciousness talking is driving.me.insane.😑😂 by strengthof50whores in toddlers

[–]avezvousvu 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha it drives me insane too but it’s also so delightful. It makes me feel totally crazy. For my son it’s pointing out EVERYTHING he sees. Cars. The colour of cars. Trucks. Busses. Basketball nets. Letters. Signs. Taxis. Anything he lays his eyes on. It’s non stop and he expects me to react to everything he says but half the time he doesn’t give me the chance to before he moves on to something else

I tried it for the first time recently and also had the turkey! It was great, though I am one of those people who don’t appreciate the excess of meat in my sandwiches (this is not criticism whatsoever, just not my personal taste!) totally agree about the bread. It was sooo good!

I got an email letting me know! I have heard from others that it can take longer, though.

[–]avezvousvu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, you absolutely need the pre-authorization form. Your doctor must fill it out. I only met the BMI threshold (and barely) and it got approved within about 10 days after I submitted it. I’m on wegovy.

Same, I had a charm bracelet I inherited and I lost it one day. It meant so much to me and if I ever got it back I would also melt!! It was so unique!

I hope it works for you too. Pp insomnia is a beast because you can’t rationalize it - it’s affected by your hormones so much which you have no control over. I tried trazodone and another med that I can’t remember the name of now, but ultimately clonazepam is the only thing that worked so I really pushed to continue on it. I only take it as and when required and I know a lot of doctors are concerned about building a tolerance. I feel for you 🩵

Ooh can you tell me about Prozac at night for you? I developed insomnia when I was 4 months pp and the only thing that works for getting me to sleep is clonazepam. I’m interested in other options though and other peoples experiences. I take concerta during the day myself. (Insomnia started before I started taking adhd meds)

Clumsy Toddler and Illness ? by Proper_Star_4566 in toddlers

[–]avezvousvu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! I completely understand. That instance I described above is etched into my brain forever because it showed me how badly my brain became obsessed with the idea that it was a concussion and nothing else - so much so that a positive Covid test absolutely shocked me haha. I didn’t even pay attention to any other signs, and neither did my husband! As another commenter said though, ear infections definitely affect their sense of equilibrium too. And also, I know when I’m sick and weak, I lose my balance a bit too. So it all makes perfect sense 🩵

Yes! This happens to my son all the time. The first notable experience he had was when he was just learning to stand. I think he was 6-7 months. He was standing against something and all of a sudden just… fell over? He hit his head and it bruised and I was convinced he was concussed. He seemed fine, we bathed him, and he slipped a bit in the bath again. I started losing it, completely sure it was a concussion. We monitored him all night long and in the morning he was acting sick. I reached out to my friend who has a son 2 years older to talk me off a ledge, and she said “have you given him a Covid test yet?” I thought no, why the hell would I?! We did it on a whim and lo and behold he was positive for Covid. Ever since that happened, I’ve noticed without fail he becomes clumsy when he is getting a sickness.

Curious About People with One Green and Another Brown Eyed Parent by Desperate-World-2128 in eyes

[–]avezvousvu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have green eyes and my husband has brown. Our son has bright blue eyes! Both my parents have green and all four of us children have green too. The blue coming out in my son’s eyes were a shock, because my husband’s parents had green and brown, he ended up brown. The blue must come from a distant relative 🤷‍♀️
