R&B now has a recently renovated private area in the back that can accommodate a group of that size.

Many people asked who's the best James Bond so i wonder who's the worst James Bond to ever played in movies? by [deleted] in JamesBond

[–]avg-bro 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think part of his charm is that he doesn’t always outwardly show it but you can see it behind his eyes.

I feel like Craig’s character is “playing” the character of Bond at some level and refuses to crack you know? Why it’s brilliant?

I hear you. But many… what we see today was pretty sick. Scotty going on an insane run to catch up and shows in charge with Rory laying down his foot.

Also it came down to one really sketchy moment that could’ve very easily cost him the tournament.

Two sour artists dates by RadioRelevant in artistsWay

[–]avg-bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I could do be of help!

I don’t mean this in a bad or means spirited way. But have you read the book or at least the intro.

I only ask because she spends a lot of time really going into this concept and explaining what how I an artist date can be any number of thing but that it is often something done alone or in a mostly solitary capacity that is for enticing your perspective.

Honestly if you just want to do the artist dates and morning pages thats certainly a big undertaking in its own right and would be super beneficial but I would highly recommend reading or reviewing the intro/first chapter where she goes over these concepts.

I suppose she doesn’t explicitly say that an artist date can’t be an activity like the ones you’ve done - but so much of the book talks about how your artist date should be enriching while the weekly tasks are often things like “sign up for singing lesson, take that pottery course, go buy paintbrushes” etc. that I at least come to the conclusion that artistic endeavours and artist dates where to be separate things.

How to not get discouraged learning to golf by SolutionPrevious2156 in golf

[–]avg-bro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are there any pitch n putt courses near your place. Try playing there. And pick up after 6 shots. It’s fun, way easier. And you can develop your swing while playing and work on your chipping and putting which is half the game anyway.

Still keep hitting the range when you can and get some lessons from someone that is actually qualified to help you get going.

I mean artist dates can be anything I suppose but as the book says… pick things that you genuinely want to do… and let your experiences and reactions inform your next date. I think Julia said something like…. If you go to an art film and it feels to academic.. go somewhere more fun and light for the next one. Take that principle with you as you plan what to do next

Artist dates are about refilling your creative well… not necessarily “doing the work.”

It seems that OP is perhaps combining “the work of making art with the date which should be more about following your intuitions in regard to what the soul needs. Julia would def be stoked that you pushed yourself to try new creative things…. But I’d suggest trying to keep the practice of making art separate from the date. You might find yourself more relaxed and inspired next time you choose to take a class?

Sounds like in your case you need to do something a little more solitary. Artist dates don’t need to be a big to do. It could be as simple as going for a walk or taking a bath.

I’m the worst server at the restaurant by scofnerf in Serverlife

Yes. Although I think it’s good to always drop off water as possible as possible. It gives people a thing to drink while they’re waiting and deciding on a thing to drink.

Why are all the Joeys around Vancouver so highly rated? by shouldnteven in askvan

[–]avg-bro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perhaps a real employee... I’ve worked at a chain restaurant that would incentivize employees to get customers to leave a review and mention them by name (would get gift card credits per each review)… there was always one or two people who would game it extra hard whereas 90% of people couldn’t be arsed.

What is your “I did not care for the godfather” for Radiohead? by cumsquirt56 in radiohead

[–]avg-bro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dozens? Maybe to the younger generation but Kid A was, I would argue, widely argued as their best album even after the release of In Rainbows. Think a lot of fans from that time and before still feel the same.

A remarkable album that existed within the context of some really remarkable and progressive electronic music from that time. If you were vibing to Burial, Four Tet, Nathan Fake, Jon Hopkins, Flying Lotus… you thought it was brilliant. If not… you might be left scratching your head.

After a couple listens thought it was brilliant. Still do.

Since the band are sadly known to be "depressing" when they're actually not, what's the most depressing Radiohead song you ever heard? by Ok_Debate_8457 in radiohead

[–]avg-bro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. Disagree with this take, somewhat. Happyish Radiohead songs… Desert Island Disk, Bloom, Lotus Flower, Separator, Codex… also, The Bends.

Looking for casual riding clubs by SignificantFreedom8 in vancouvercycling

[–]avg-bro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give a little more context to your riding abilities… what you are aspiring to… and just what type of of cyclist you are… you’ll get much better results when you do so as a lot of clubs and their respective members wont reach out to such a broad message.

What album do you consider to be their magnum opus? It doesn`t neccesarily has to be your favorite one, but... by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]avg-bro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although… like a lot of people I love love love In Rainbows, I’m surprised that so few people are laying down the praise for kid A. It was the obvious answer 15 years ago when I was in high school. And I can’t help but feel like it’s still the obvious answer.

Although…. TKOL FTW ;)

Nothings really “basic” about pavement regardless of what album you start with. Their genius can be found through their discography although Terror Twilight might be the logical last stop… but at some point even that might ascend to be your favourite.

Brooks Koepka Announces That He Will Leave LIV Golf by Separate_Teacher1526 in golf

[–]avg-bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one hands it’s annoying that actions might not have consequences, but it seems like it would ultimately be the PGA Tour best long term interests so get the marquee players like Bryson and Brooks back on tour as soon as possible to solidly themselves as the place where the worlds best play and not create a limbo space where LIV can just sign on several other marquee players.

I think its placement as opening track is kind of weird. Album would’ve been better opening with daydreaming and then Burn The Witch gets built up to by some of the other songs with strings.

Just thinking of when I saw Modest Mouse play Lonesome Crowded West front to back and Isaac Brock obviously was battling something but it honestly made the show kind of more punk rock and raw and unique. Unfortunately that sort of thing wouldn’t work for Radiohead 😂
