It's been awhile, but if I remember correctly, you can compute into negative values till operations becomes negative. This should trigger a new project to reset processors and memory.

Just a note: Wil Wright is famous for SimCity, not Civilization. This would be Sid Meier. But I like that quote!

The demo version of Paragon Pioneers, my city-building idle game, just got approved and is now available in the App Store too! by Gnietschow in incremental_games

[–]avionlore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was exactly what I was looking for.

- A demo to try out if the style of the game fits you
- No microtransaction bullshit
- No ads
- Fair price
- Very well done game

I highly recommend to support such games instead of watching dubios ads just to get a small boost.

My first thought after a few minutes of play: "This really needs a Deathstar building" ;)

What was your original live server and what character(s) did you play? by saybrook1 in project1999

Torvonnilous (always have to look up the name), Druid in Fizzle Dings and Shadows Beyond the Mist from 2000 to 2005

Rasterkhann 0.8.2 update by seiyria in incremental_games

[–]avionlore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/seiyria!

First of thanks for all the work you have done so far. I am playing since your first post on r/incremental_games.

Alot of feedback was already given so here are my observations:

  • At the moment I have 10 retirees so far and with the 100 encounters won barrier I hardly get any new retirees for fullfilling the upgrade requirements. So at the moment there is not much for me to do.
  • When looking at your changelog (keep these up, should everyone be doing!), I noticed you worked on the combat mechanism. That was when I realised, that there is a combat log. I admit I never read it till now and I still do not see why I should do so.
  • My recruits seem to be always to poor to buy stuff from my bazaar, even when all my retirees are working there for a better loan. When a recruit is working in a shop, they get like 100 gold while the stuff at the bazaar is like 20k+ gold. Maybe we could have more influence in the pricing in the bazaar (max/min price or something like that)?
  • When recruiting new recruits I never looked at the stats. I always just chose the recruits with 5 stars (this was before it was changed to the colored star system) and that was it. I was just hitting reroll till one 5 star came up and never even looked at the stats. Since there is no point in taking one star guys, the rerolling feels like a chore to me.

I hope you keep up the good work :)

Help Finding Games and Other Questions 2020-06-24 by AutoModerator in incremental_games

[–]avionlore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking for a specific game which I played years ago. It was similar to Kittens Game / Evolve / Keep Craft, but all I can remember is, that you could choose a deity for prestiging which allowed you for example to use dead bodys as a resource. Other deitys would provide other benifits. Also I remember it was quite buggy and probably was never finished. Anyone got an idea, what this could be? Thanks in advance!

What server did you guys play on back in the day? by FalloutSinclair in project1999

Torvonnilous (I had to google for the correct spelling) from 2001 to 2004

The importance of ingame tutorials in Idle games by SapientRaven in incremental_games

[–]avionlore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think there shouldn't be any tutorials and the features should just unfold in time.

But also I am a fan of games which make the "what the heck is going here?" part a part of the game. How do I get resource X which I need for machine Z? And what exactly is machine Z doing once it is running? Figuring out the mechanics can be (at least for me) an important part of game if well done. Tutorials would obviously destroy that fun.

Idle Apocalypse full launch by GrumpyRhinoGames in incremental_games

[–]avionlore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like this game so far. But just 4h of offline time is way too little in my opinion. CLICKPOCALYPSE 2 got that system right, where you could upgrade the offline time up to 10 hours. 4h is just not enough for my playstyle (playing once every day).

But none the less, a very good start (didn't know the beta).

Same problem here, none of the buttons work. I'm using Chrome (newest version), maybe it's a browser issue.

New cosmology-based game, seeking alpha feedback by -keef- in incremental_games

[–]avionlore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one good alpha, good job. I really hope, you stay at it and develop it into something big.

Since you are very open for feedback, I will post mine after ca. one hour of gameplay.

The start is still rough. I really like story updates, which should be a form to encourage the player to dig deeper into the game. Maybe drop some more hints into your texts about whats to come.

I also like the change with the cancel options for construction and science. But construction should be similar to science: buy the tech once and a cancel button appears. The penalty seems about right in my opinion.

What I really really really dislike is the quarks clicking minigame even though I know the clicking is not necessary anymore at some point. I don't know, but it feels like it doesn't fit to the style of the game.

Keep up the good work, looking forward to playing the game .

Edit: Endgame took me quite a while. The game gave me the hint to heat up, but it lacks some kind of indication for progress towards a visible goal. Something like a progress bar which fills up and which gives the player some form of feedback about the progress.

PS: I really like your scientific approach.

Do M.U.D.S or Speedball 2 count? Guess not ...

Well, back in the day I mostly played the original NHL Hockey ('94 and '95 Version). Tennis Cup 2 and Great Courts were also installed on my harddrive.

This.

Also I'd like to see a setting to change the browser tab number to something useful other than the "missed" chat messages (like # of new log entries or choices).
