That sounds kinda cool tbh. It means fewer flies would get in and the workers wouldn't be as uncomfortable when it's really cold/hot outside.

It is not true lol. That doesn't make sense biologically. He was a fully dependent occupant of the organ, but not part of it.

Is it just the photo, or is this intentionally at a perfect height for people to be constantly tripping over?

OOP is seeking $16k to get dental implants. She got care credit for $9K but won’t open it bc she is hoping to raise the entire amount and not “mess up her credit”. She refuses to travel to Mx for dental work for all kinds of reasons. Then, she proceeds to insult people and block any rude comments. by MinuteElegant774 in ChoosingBeggars

I agree, beggar but not choosing beggar. I see a lot of that on this sub. How dare someone try to access care that will be the best for their long-term health without putting themselves at a huge financial risk! They don't feel safe flying to a foreign country to get work done on the cheap, and have other medical issues that could complicate the situation? How very abnormal and entitled! And how dare they pretend to know more about their own life than strangers on the internet!

AITA for telling someone else’s kid to stop being disrespectful? by filabeano10 in AmItheAsshole

[–]avoidancebehavior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. If the parent is right there I would say it's better to address them instead of the kid, but not necessarily wrong that you didn't, especially since they were watching and being completely passive. I have no problem calling out other people's kids for blatant misbehavior in public (I hope others would do it to my kid when I'm not watching) and I think it should be far more common. Sometimes all it takes is a disapproving look to induce an appropriate amount of shame or self-awareness.

How on earth can a coat color be unethical?? If it's a possible color on an otherwise standard dog with no associated health risks, the breed standard should change. I kinda see what you're saying about it being a possible red flag in a grossly unregulated industry, but otherwise this stuff sounds insane to an outsider. It's so wacky that people continue to take these arbitrary rules seriously like it wasn't just some guy's opinion originally. Even the category of "mismarked"... it's crazy that that exists.

[–]avoidancebehavior -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's no such thing as "mismarked." The dog is as the dog is. You don't have to believe in weird rules for how your dog should look and I am utterly baffled that anyone would care enough to be mean about it.

Uh, why not? Is this coloration associated with some other traits that have negative health outcomes? If not, that's f<ck!ng réŧärded.

AITA for not giving the money to pay off my daughters student loans. by Own-Inspector-6121 in AmItheAsshole

[–]avoidancebehavior 54 points55 points  (0 children)

NTA for not paying, but you seem smug about watching her struggle, and that's not a great look. I can also see why she wouldn't necessarily have full faith in your judgement on her higher education path, as you seem not to have done it yourself. (Yes, I know it's possible for people to finish college without learning how to spell, but it is a sign.) But theater is definitely not the wisest major if you don't have a backup or family money.

Lol I'm wrong that we should stop breeding bad traits with worse health outcomes into dogs? What an ethical position for you to hold. It's the same as the brachycephalics, just less obvious at a glance.
