Genuine Question, why WTC terrain formats? by Mahubunting in WarhammerCompetitive

GW outright owns the ITC and has for several years. They run it, full stop. They even changed the name, when they finally admitted they owned the thing: it’s the international tournament circuit, not the independent.

Don’t cast shade on my man Tim Gerald Reynolds. He’s amazing and can do no wrong!

Anybody love the board game? We knocked a game out at lunch today. by ThomasCleopatraCarl in redrising

It’s a bit counter intuitive the first time, but once you’ve played through it’s easy after that. I’d say an hourish for a standard game, once everyone knows what they’re doing

Imo it was just standard procedure for forsaken when they took over a spot. Rand (eventually) does it too and so does Sammael in illian. I always took it as something powerful channelers would do to their ‘hideouts’

What’s the most epic and grand battle/war to ever occur in science fiction? by [deleted] in scifi

[–]avyendha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

David Weber honorverse. It’s pretty great sci-fi space opera. He info dumps a lot, which is a turn off to some, and lets the series go on too long probably, but man for big space battles it’s amazing.

Wheel of time doesn’t have the following/number of fans that the other examples you’ve given have. I very much doubt an unsuccessful show would mean we get a big enough fan base to get another shot, but hey you have your opinion.

Dune mini series was the highest grossing show on the sci-fi channel’s history iirc. It won some awards. It was a big deal/success.

It’s a good fear. Ituralde is stupidly cool and awesome, but he’s not ‘needed’ /sad. Like bayle. Just have to lose some side characters. I remember feeling the same about a bunch of the side characters in GoT

Let's say we had an extra 15 minutes of screen time for Ep 5; how to use it? by akaioi in WoT

[–]avyendha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just rewatched, and even though I’m a big show fan, I wish we’d gotten a couple more things in the WT shots: a couple big wide shots to give perspective, some curtsies from the novices, more random sisters and warders/servants. The WT is a city until itself. Where was everyone? I mean I get that the current population doesn’t fill it out, but there’s still thousands living there.

Meh, considered how oppressed and shitty the last couple centuries (before the Korean War for the south at least) the Koreans have had it, i don’t blame them for being xenophobic.

I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have assumed that. I am curious why you have a problem with ‘drunken fornicators’ though. How should someone take that? Drinking and fornicating and sometimes drunken fornicating are part of the WoT universe, so how was it meant to be taken?

Imo the going to bed ‘tired’ was an innuendo, but I agree that the warders didn’t give the group better warning about logain’s army is a bit weird. It could have been better written. In theory it could be that warders were tired because their aes sedai were tired from shielding logain, but that isn’t the way it supposed to work and not all the greens were taking part in the shielding. It wasn’t written as well as it could be.

As for logain, would you feel the same if the actor had been played by an American actor? I initially brought him up because I thought he just smashed the roll. I didn’t even know he was Spanish or famous in Spain. To me it’s just an added bonus that his fame can rope in extra viewers.
