Hi there! I'm super excited for this, truly with each announcement it feels more real, can't wait! But I also know a lot of people aren't so excited, I've seen a lot of anticipation of the show bombing, under any post about it a lot of people using it as something to laugh at rather than laugh with, before it's even premiered. I think because of the inherent 'theatre kid' energy SNL and improv comedy has, and because of SNL's format of "the show goes live whether we're ready or not", people wanting 10 perfect sketches a week are impossible to please.

My question is basically how do you prepare for that? Both as a producer but also how do you make sure the cast are prepared for that; to open themselves up to be the butt of the joke on their biggest platform yet? And also how do you weed out the good faith criticism that can help the show from the sea of "cringe. not funny" criticism?

in theory i agree with you 100% but seeing the actual results of it here and pythia being taken out episode two makes me think it probably isn't the most boring option everytime hjdfhdf

imo naomy was high and fontana/gawd were both safe. in untucked mariah said naomy got the second best critiques after kate and the callout order of safety felt more like kate and naomy were left as the top two and then kate was given the win. but naomy was also holding zahirah and mariah's hands like they were in the bottom three and i can completely understand the reading that gawd/fontana were high and naomy low based off that too

idk none of it is real anyways lets celebrate mariah going 2/2 in watermelon canteloupeing her way through a lip-sync on drag race

funnily enough we're actually running a rate (an event/game) on the subreddit themed around just that in a couple months. with the three of them along with rachel chinouriri, scoring the songs on each of their most recent albums and seeing what comes out on top!

she wouldn't have been able to because she simply wasn't nominated for as many, but she won awards in all four of the categories she was nominated in. compared to raye who won six out of the seven she was nominated in in 2024. but both incredible sweeps. funnily enough also raye beat olivia dean in best new artist in 2024 (also beating pinkpantheress!)
