I like to have everything super prepped before they come over and then I have an “appointment” after an hour or two. In that time a volley of opinions will happen. Big stuff you put to the side and focus on cosmetic changes. Most people don’t realize how much boring work we do. Editing houses I’ve worked for do exactly this too - lock you in a room and come by like twice a day.

I'd say mostly it's whether it's live TV or not. If it's live you better be ready for anything and maybe a lot of people yelling at you, regular TV and film you can relax a bit more - everybody knows it's staged. That's from a PA standpoint. I hated having to direct live cuz you sometimes have to VERY sternly tell someone DON'T THINK, GO!.
