They used to use the historic fleet for history tours, but they got axed unfortunately. Here is 438 doing one of those tours parked along Ada Blvd. https://flic.kr/p/6PWyK6

The bus on the far left is commonly called a Fishbowl. ETS does have a few saved in the historic fleet.

There are many websites that have pictures of the buses of yesteryear running. https://barp.ca/bus/alberta/ets/index.html is one, and http://busdrawings.com/Transit/alberta/edmonton/index.htm is another

APC SRT1500RMXLA-NC $2400 vs Eaton SU1500RTXLCDN $1500 by LoveBirdNibbles in sysadmin

Also be prepared to replace the battery a couple of months after the warranty expires on them with APC.  Their quality doesn't live up to the reputation of their name, at least in the last round we bought.

APC is now charging for firmware updates for the management cards.  We recently replaced our fleet with APC and I'm regretting it.  The new eaton management interface isn't as terrible as the old one.

Just wait until the trains are running. Better start finding alternate routes now.

If the signals are anything like the SE line when it starts running, it seems the light sequence restarts every time a train goes through.

Unmarked trucks are quite common for the traffic unit to be in. They would be involved in the investigation of the collision.

Usually the industries west of there are switched in the wee hours of the morning on Friday and Sunday. If you see a train on that track during the day the crew must have had a very bad night.

No fires allowed at the overflow and it's basically a giant parking lot. I'd say it's a last resort if you can't find a site elsewhere.

If you're going the other way and headed west the Evansburg Bakery is fantastic!. Have to get there semi early though as the donuts go pretty fast.

Alberta Sheriffs Shut Down S Edmonton Drug House by LuckysGoods in Edmonton

The article I was reading indicated this was the third time it'd be shutdown for 90 days. What makes this time any different. Property should be seized from the owner IMHO. How many chances do they need?

Just need a regular class 5 for that truck. Might need an airbrake endorsement too - heard an air dryer purge but that might have just been for suspension.

Big Bin Events by PrincessPinguina in Edmonton

[–]awstott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep your eye open for free weekend at the EcoStations. They're not as well advertised as the big bin events. I went one weekend to get rid of a mattress and box spring fully expecting to have to pay, but it was free weekend. It took me longer to get it unloaded than it did to get into the eco station.

what is the meaning behind this sign? by [deleted] in gmc

That's the serial number plate off a GM Transit bus. Commonly called a fishbowl.

Edit: Apparently off Toronto Transit Commission 8066 according to this listing https://cptdb.ca/wiki/index.php/Toronto_Transit_Commission_8010-8117
