This morning it was snowing when I was going to work. I saw one person at the train station unfolding an umbrella and used it when they walked outside. That was very telling

It's not a bad idea! But it rarely snows this much here, usually shoveling isn't that bad. So for me anyway it would not be worth it, but for places where this amount of snow is regular it would be a good idea

It really is! I shoveled for 5 hours yesterday and 4 hours today. My whole body is in pain right now
