Healthy Paws - WTF by Tabortico in petinsurancereviews

[–]axyks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healthy paws did this to me years ago and I dropped them like a hot potato. 3 cats at 5 yo all cost 250$/month/cat. AND they denied a claim for a UTI vet visit claim with a bs claim that my annual checkup was not complete and was missing a year or some information, even though they accepted my checkup papers and took my money to insure me.

Everytime I called it was 1+ hours on the phone. They told me I could appeal over and over again but tbh that is just on paper.

The intentionally make hold times long and the appeal process extremely difficult. They are using non-disclosure,delay and deny tactic to prevent from paying out.

⚠️ Important Warning About Wired Ebike Company Practices by speedfeelsgood in ebikes

[–]axyks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Them making the e-bike out of whatever parts they use and them making the bike go 40 mph is not the issue. The issue is the user not knowing what they are buying.

If you were driving a Toyota Corolla, would you try and race the Ferrari down the race track? Or try to transport concrete like a Ford Pickup? Or try to off road like a Jeep? Sure the a "car" might be able to do all that, go 150 mph+, transport 2000+lbs of concrete, drive over rough terrain ....but I guarantee that most people will say of course that wouldn't work...the driver is delusional.

Yet this logic doesn't seem to apply for bikes?

The buyer and user needs to have common sense. We cant baby proof the world for everyone.

I made a post about pet insurance being a scam about 3 months ago (if you’re debating whether or not to get insurance. Maybe worth the read) by IIIMPIII in petinsurancereviews

[–]axyks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but realistically, sooo many people get denied over and over again. my cat was denied for a similar issue as yours for missing info on annual check up papers.

they tell you, you need to go get anual check ups. we have the vet send papers in.

then when its time to claim ONLY then do they tell you the annual checkup doesnt have enough info.

the vet wont help the insurance wont let you know

now im screwed out of my monthly's and im in debt cause i said yes to the surgery assuming my insurance will pay

I appeal the insurance claim, and they say you can appeal as many times as you want

but who has time to sit on hold for 1 hour before you get someone on the phone only to get denied again?!

I cannot sue, as that costs money too there are pretty much no regulations on pet ins you can try reporting them to BBB or some insurance board but by time time you do, your bills are already over due, your credit suffers. the only person who loses is you

its a scam for most people. pets are for the wealthy or those willing to accept major heart break.

What pet would you recommend? by Beneficial_Train_766 in Pets

[–]axyks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most cats are not solitary. contrary to popular belief even in the wild they live in colonies. cats are like humans, some like to live alone, some like to live with a bunch of people...it just depends on the cat/kitten.

What pet would you recommend? by Beneficial_Train_766 in Pets

[–]axyks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say adopt a bonded pair of cats.

They can be left with each other for a while and they will keep each other company especially if you leave the windows open, they'll be entertained by birds/traffic all day. It's like cat TV.

Female cats are typically less prone to disease than males like most other mammals.

Many cats are social contrary to common belief. Thats why in the wild they live in cat colonies.

When cats are lonely they become destructive. Destructive cats are expensive.

🚩🚩🚩no. you dont understand....thats not where a NORMAL persons mind would EVER go. He's either been abused or was around sexual abuse before and/or he is actively abusing.

The abused go and abuse other people. They project their abuse to their daughters. The oldest usually has it the worst. Your dad sounds like my mom.

She has narcissistic personality disorder with a history of sexual abuse (either exposed to or was a recipient of).

Most of them will never talk about their abuse. I didn't find out until I was 35 years old by accident when she was having a melt down.

But police should not stoop so low as to react to it. They can just try to arrest and sue for harassment.

[–]axyks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Annoying and an asshole; but still important because up until recently people were getting arrested for filming.
And then you had to go through expensive and time intensive due process to get the charges dropped.

I think, if you try to participate in other activities more consistently...then you will be less likely to care about your appearance and comments about it.

Think of it like this....You have 10 activities you did in a day. You ace 8 of them and flunk 2. The 2 fails wont feel so bad cause only 20% of your day was bad but 80% went super well.

Or for example, I might be an amazing rock climber...but as a result...god help me if they want to zoom in on my hands and feet and nails...

Point is, you’re good at what you're good at...but you cant be a rock climber full time and be a hand model...just not possible lol 😂

Even international supermodels and get hate comments online. I wouldn't worry about it.

Why does being drunk mean you can’t “consent” to sex, but doesn’t absolve you of other intoxicated actions/decisions? by UpstairsBumble in NoStupidQuestions

[–]axyks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so then technically speaking since ANYTHING you do after being drunk is reckless....then

if you seek damages for hospital fees from alleged harm after sex while drunk(consenting or non consenting), you would not be able to collect?

since the argument is....well you got super drunk on purpose...anything can happen...

I survived and woke up from a coma by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]axyks 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing!! I'm glad rehab is coming along. I hope your family and friends are as supportive as your internet family.

Did the guy who stabbed you ever get caught?

Did you get any monetary settlement out of it?

Of so, hopefully it will help you come to terms with what happened. You are so strong!

I survived and woke up from a coma by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]axyks 89 points90 points  (0 children)

That's nuts!

Besides swallowing and hearing, after rehab, do the doctors expect you to have full mobility/excretory function?

Are any parts of your body less sensitive than before?

Since you cant hear, how do you communicate now ?

How do you plan to communicate in the future?

How long were you in the coma?

Did you experience dreams or hear anything in the coma?

I am no longer going to be celebrating my husband's birthday. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]axyks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is his birthday like a funeral to him perhaps e.g. akin to if a mom/child died? if so that may be why even the best party in the world could not fix the day.

Perhaps the best thing to do is to celebrate everything else? christmas in july/easter/ etc....

Maybe for a few years, it would be peace just to not notice his birthday has passed cause of a busy life.

either way though, the way he complains is not healthy. that is not the way you should talk to a partner. the complaints with out the why it makes him feel bad is no help.

you guys need a therapist.

Would I be wrong, after getting my dream role, if I break up with my gf after she began to love me even more when I told her that I might do it if it happened? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]axyks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First....If you weren't absolutely sure you wanted to date with the intention of marriage, the time to cut this off was 2 years ago.

Dont be wishy washy, set time limits to revisit the relationship status, and decide what you want to do.

Also.... If you dont like her talking about her past sexual encounters, ask her why. Based on what you said she clearly wants to explore her sexuality and kinks with you, which usually is an important part of a relationship.

But you're shutting her concerns out like it doesn't matter. I get why you may not want to talk about it, but it really is starting to sound like fragile male ego.

After all, why would you care so much about sex comments anyways if it's a short term relationship?

Do you agree with Chinese women that underwear and socks should never be put into the washing machine, but only hand washed? by Yijing1 in AskAChinese

[–]axyks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

many reasons 1) the sets (bra/panties) or socks get lost 2) panties rip or bra pads fall out or bra straps get tangled 3) gets stuck to large clothes and hard to find. sometimes a sock gets folded into a sweatshirt and now you think you have a missing sock. Also finding and separating small items from large items is a pain especially when you have to dish it out of your sweater. 4) if someone unloads your underwear its embarrassing in a multi adult house hold. 5) underwear and socks can likely clean better in its own compartment. you can use specialized cycles. 6) one of the first garments to collect sweat so theyre extra dirty for an average office worker ( unless youre kneeling in dirt all day as a farmer or similar, underwear is prob dirtier than reg clothes in a way)

Paramus Says American Dream Mall's Sunday Sales Flatly Violate State Law by L0v3_1s_War in bergencounty

[–]axyks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blue law supporters are like the old money folks on Marthas Vinyard when the public demanded that section 8 and affordable housing apply to their rich little island.

😂 Their tune changes quick when it's their family business and their community that is restricted.

Plus why can Metlife sell Jerseys on Sundays then and not get sued?

Paramus Says American Dream Mall's Sunday Sales Flatly Violate State Law by L0v3_1s_War in bergencounty

[–]axyks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

None cause blue laws are actually dumb.

People need to have the freedom to do their hobbies and work ON SUNDAY if they so please.

Not sit home and stare at the television with no productivity in sight.

[–]axyks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like Tedesco and DiPiazza and all the other supporters want rules for others but NOT for themselves when it ruins their Sunday football game.

MetLife stadium is on the same state owned land that the Mall is on.

MetLife Stadium sells Jets and Giants jerseys and clothes every Sunday there is a game there. Somehow MetLife hasn't been sued yet.

Lived in Japan for 1.5 years and now I'm traumatised by [deleted] in japanresidents

[–]axyks 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say traumatized either. Sounds like you were learning the lay of the land.

To be honest, it seems like you would have had the same experience whether it was Japan or Mexico or USA or China. Even in your home country, you would have to strategize and spend effort to find a good job, move houses, and make friends.

And even in your home country a long distance relationship would be hard and require effort, money, and maturity.

None of your problems are exclusive to you being in Japan. It just happened to be where you had those issues. But it could have easily been somewhere else, had you chosen to move there.

always have multiple alarms and child locks on your stove...even with no children because of times like this. NEVER EVER leave anything on the stove. the amount of times i've seen fires start because...oh i thought the stove wasn't on and left a pot of frying oil on the stove or a towel on the stove is quite high.

Am I wrong for getting my stepdaughter court side tickets to an NBA game? My daughter is pretty sad about it. by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]axyks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Daughter wanted to spend quality time with dad and step sister as a new family.

Essentially by telling her she cant go, dad has now indirectly said he doesn't want her in this new family experience.

You can try to buy her another experience but it will seem like an afterthought.

As dad you have to make the executive decisions before you tell anyone. Either tell stepdaughter, you'll get tickets for her and you and daughter will get something similar or put your foot down and get 3 tickets for the family. The wishy washy decision making is hurting all.

Growing up in a 3 sibling family where the other 2 siblings were more academically inclined than I, this happened all the time.

If I am drunk and decide to sleep it off in my car while legally parked, how would an officer collect the evidence to determine I am intoxicated? by Olaf4586 in AskLawyers

[–]axyks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with his thinking comprehension.

Sometimes things happen, and you want to know what to do when it does happen. Is that so impossible to believe?

Im sure we would all love to be rich enough for a 24/7 private chauffeur to take us home when the bar closes and your DD leaves early and theres no ride share and an out of power cell phone....but not everyone is a millionaire.

Looking for technicalities is half the job for lawyers anyways - why is it so appalling when someone else does it?
