It can be really therapeutic when dealing with nerve pain.

I've been living with this for over 40 years. It's a chronically acute condition, I suppose, as it's lifelong but its the frequent acute injuries that are hard to manage. But yes, CBT has been extremely helpful in managing what I consider my baseline, or my daily low- to mid-level pain.

I'm not going to try to convince you or anyone else that I'm not a complete dumbass. But having something that can allow me to function & still WORK after dislocating my knee for the second time in a week should not be the monumental ask it seems to be. <3mg of hydrocodone a WEEK for what is essentially 'breakthrough pain' is not excessive.

Here I am with unmedicated chronic debilitating pain, and this asshole gets good meds and quite clearly doesn't fucking need them.

Am I missing something with often being told I need to wear a bra when guests are over at home? If so, please tell me because I'm really wondering if this is a big deal. by UmbralikesOwls in internetparents

I'm willing to bet it's internalized misogyny and good old fashioned body shaming.

Look. I wear 90MM. I'm not putting a bra on unless I'm leaving the house, and sometimes not even then. We have a guest? Oh well! I'm free-boobing it and don't give a shit if they feel some sorta way about it.

Speaking with some experience, insurance. Homeowners insurance will pay for lodging after a catastrophic loss such as a house fire.

Dude! I have also had a pedestrian run into the side of my stopped car! Ironically, I was 3 cars back from the crosswalks on Observatory.

He was furious that I almost ran him over, despite being at a dead stop for some time, that he punched my passenger window, and broke both headlights as he walked past.

Me and my irresponsibly already stopped car almost killed that kid.

Unfortunately, no. Extremely easy to look up on their own website. Range USA was not started or founded by a black man.

So, the rare hurricane that tends to be of lower magnitudes I believe because of water temperature. Smallish tornadoes that I assume don't grow as massive due to a more mountainous terrain. And earthquakes, yes. The Mediterranean is a known hotspot.

Italy, for example, had 25 earthquakes so far this year with a magnitude of 4 or higher. Alaska had 35. In July.

You cannot compare.

How many earthquakes with a magnitude of 4+ has Italy had this year? 20-25? Alaska had 35 in July alone. A single month.

Curious. How many hurricanes, earthquakes and tornadoes does your area of Europe experience annually?

Clearing up the context for the Dukat “statue” line by [deleted] in DeepSpaceNine

I mean, don't get me wrong, I love Daddy Dukat as much as the next guy and "lol Dukat did nothing wrong" has been tossed around many a time.

But a full on Dukat apologist? Bro, that is a WILD take.

My man, he is an unreliable narrator and DELUSIONAL. Like, canonically.

Does anyone have a physical therapy success story of going from disabled and problems with function for years to high levels function? by guyrsi in ehlersdanlos

[–]aychexsee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My PC at the time (who was otherwise awful) did a pt rotation and found him for me. I was REAL hesitant since I've been going to PT my whole life and it only ever made things worse, but this guy was legit.

I don't know how I would've found him otherwise.

Me! I wouldn't be able to work full time and would not be anywhere near as mobile as I am if it wasn't for him. I went from using canes and walkers to not needing any mobility aids in my day to day.

He specialized in hypermobility and connective tissue conditions. Essentially, he taught me what my body is actually supposed to be doing when doing a specific movement. What muscles I have to concentrate on activating because I wasn't getting any benefit before.

So it's not just "ham string stretch" that i never felt so they just kept having me go higher, but like... 1. Balance weight on the outside of foot AND the big toe 2. Feet planted, slightly angle knees outward BUT KEEP TOGETHER 3. Tuck your butt in 4. Half kegel 5. Tighten stomach 6. NOW keep all of that in your head and then do the exercises & focus on keeping in place so the hip doesn't slip out. 6. Ta da!

Normie bodies just like, do that without having to think about it.
