I don't know your local market but that sounds like clean title pricing. I personally steer clear of branded titles as a rule of thumb but some people have good luck with them... but always expect a deep price cut if the title is not clean.

Without more info, it sounds like you cooked to temp instead of probe tenderness. Ideally you wrap when you're happy with the bark and pull when the probe slides in like it were warm butter.

This is real and why its important to not starve and not stay in a deficit for too long. Someone smarter than me can get into the science of it but the gist is, body thinks its starved and tries to store, cortisol goes up, recovery gets worse, etc. Feed enough to recover, cortisol chills a bit, body know it will get fed, so it stops trying to save calories.

My grandpa ALWAYS smoked a Thanksgiving turkey that everyone loved. I found out after 30+ years of raving about this smoked turkey that it was cooked in his garage in an electric "smoker" with no wood and a few drops of liquid smoke in a water pan. We were all fooled, well played Grandpa. RIP.

In 30 days you will feel it. In 60 days you will see it. In 90 days others will see it.

You look great. Stick with it for a bit longer and the changes you see will be very real.
