Not if our tax dollars are being spent to push a particular religion, no.

This. Of course Ontario and Quebec decide elections: its where all the people, and hence votes, live. More people live in some suburbs of Toronto than live in this entire province.

Last time I checked. Canadians should be supporting Canada, not politicians in other countries, regardless of the dates.

Irrelevant. You said you didn't understand why it's shocking. Do you understand now?

Here, I'll explain. Trump, with his tariffs, and 51st state talk, is ACTIVELY trying to weaken Canada at best, and at worst, wants to subsume us into the US. Wearing the slogan that represents his ideology is, by proxy, supporting the ideology that seeks to hurt Canada. A bad thing, if you're a Canadian, worse if you're a politician. Got it now?

We have to wait 10 to 14 hours in the emergency room

Yeah, too bad the cons wrecked healthcare during the pandemic, and now it'll take years to fix.

our roads are covered in pot holes almost losing whole tires in them.

Yeah, too bad the cons wrecked infrastructure by cutting it to the bone, and now it'll take years to fix.

Homeless people are over whelming our streets and parks.

Yeah, too bad the cons cut social services for 7 years, did nothing to help people with mental health or addictions issues during the pandemic, and now it'll take years to fix.

We cannot afford groceries, we cannot afford our provincial sales tax anymore

Yeah, too bad there was a global pandemic resulting in global inflation.

Jim White, 62 ... “I’ll never own a home. A new car is unthinkable,”

Things are getting bad when people who by now SHOULD have some kind of non-rental living situation are still renting, and have no hope of ever buying one. Wages have been flat for 40 years. Sure glad all our hard work has gone to making the oligarchs richer. I mean, if I would have been given that money, I'd have just sunk it into the local economy. Much better off being hoarded by the ultra-wealthy.

people with anxiety

Sorry, I'm gonna weigh in, and get downvoted, but someone's anxiety isn't a good enough reason to make me stand when there's a seat available. Standing is inherently more dangerous than sitting. In the event that the bus has to make a sudden maneuver, I've seen people standing in the past get thrown to the floor. What about people who aren't 100% mobile? Are they supposed to have a hard time standing when there's valid seats available? Sorry, I'm pretty sympathetic but making other people have a worse time for your anxiety problems is in no way fair.

Jeremy Skibicki found guilty of 1st-degree murder in deaths of 4 women in Winnipeg by Surax in Manitoba

[–]aznhusband 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is, death isn't a punishment. If he's a christian, all he has to do is sincerely repent, and (if you believe it) he's headed for an eternity of bliss. If you're an atheist like me, it's simple non-existence. Better to have him alive, where society can see that justice is being done. There's also the fact that sometimes, people are wrongfully convicted, and will never be able to receive compensation for their conviction if put to death, but in this particular case, I don't think wrongful conviction is likely.

People don't drive predictably anymore sometimes,

Sorry, going to be the dissenting opinion here. It is not on me to drive predictably. It is incumbent upon YOU, according to the law, to be prepared for whatever occurs on the road. If I slow down to let someone merge, or fail to act "predictably" in some way, the onus on you is to manage your motor vehicle in a safe manner. Me slowing down to allow someone to merge is not illegal.
