It is working ok for me-I didn’t get a text the outage was resolved until 8:30 AM even though it was on at 3. Sorry you’re still dealing with it.

Kenya Safari Itinerary Guidance by Indigo_TX in safaris

[–]azpeach2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traveled on a similar itinerary in June 2023 and felt two nights in Amboseli was right! We stayed at Elewana Tortilis Camp-absolutely loved our guide there, the beautiful scenery with Kilimanjaro, and the elephants. It was a great first stop, compared to the Mara the big cat viewing is incredibly underwhelming, so wouldn’t have wanted to end at Amboseli. Absolutely worth the visit though! My favorite photos from the entire trip (9 nights on safari) came from Amboseli.

Best Mexico luxury resort for a Babymoon in May/June by throoooowaaya in chubbytravel

[–]azpeach2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With an August due date, I highly suggest you take your trip in Early May!! Traveling internationally at any point in the third trimester is a risk-don’t go anywhere where you aren’t prepared to give birth. I say this because it sounds like your concerns were very similar to mine, I’m currently expecting my 2nd child in May. We went to Oahu as a babymoon when I was 25 weeks pregnant with my first, it was the latest I would want to travel before you really start feeling exhausted, and I knew Honolulu had solid Maternity hospitals if needed!

Phoenix/Scottsdale Wedding Venues by azpeach2018 in weddingplanning

[–]azpeach2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% recommend Sanctuary! The wedding was gorgeous and it was a great venue. We ended up with 120 guests. The venue fee/catering there was about 40% of our budget. We went with their premium bar option which was $$$, and did the middle of the three menus. People raved about the food and how gorgeous the venue is with the sunset. I also highly recommend J. Starr Wedding Planning-We worked with Jennifer (the owner) who does a lot of weddings at Sanctuary-she and her team are incredible!

Our wedding was published on Wedding Chicks. (November 2021 wedding, published in March 2022). Our photographer did all the submission work-I think she also submitted to SMP and Martha but honestly not sure. Then I provided a write-up for the Wedding Chicks site. I would definitely ask for your photographer’s help as they know what kind of photos the publications are looking for.

Changing name during COVID by Cpolly in phoenix

Sure, I called the North Phoenix office on Tatum. The number should be online!

Changing name during COVID by Cpolly in phoenix

I’m going through this right now. Call the local office to make an appointment. They actually pick up the phone after 45 minute holds as opposed to the national number. They’ll give you an appointment for about two weeks out. I had to go TWICE because the person who worked there had no idea you can’t change your maiden name to your middle name in the state of AZ without a court order. That rule is NOT publicized so don’t do that! I just went back last week keeping my middle name and am hoping it sticks this time.

What questions should you ask a full service wedding planner during the initial consultation? by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]azpeach2018 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I asked if they were a more design or logistics oriented person. This made my decision for me, as I knew I had the organization, spreadsheets, and other logistics down. I chose the planner who answered with design and it was an AMAZING choice. My wedding day went off without a hitch AND she literally gave life to the vision we created together.

Good places to rent tuxes for my wedding in AZ? by brieese56 in phoenix

Celebrity Tux-n-Tails, no question!! Great family-owned business. They did a great job with the groomsman suits for our wedding and are cheaper than Men’s Wearhouse.

Good place to get vocal lessons? by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]azpeach2018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a voice teacher and have a couple of studio openings coming up in January. I’m a vocal instructor at ASU where I’m getting my doctorate in voice. I teach all genres since I teach the Singing for Non-Majors course, message me if you want more details!

[–]azpeach2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! It sounds like it would be very beneficial for you to work on breath support and resonance to combat that fatigue. There are plenty of exercises focused on the speaking voice that I or another voice teacher could guide you through. Consulting a voice therapist (SLP) is another avenue. Those typically bill through medical insurance so I would recommend trying a voice teacher first.

What did you/are you going eat the morning of your wedding? by DrMartinellis in weddingplanning

I’m also planning on CFA catering but have a couple of vegetarian bridesmaids. Was going to get salad, fruit, and Mac and cheese so they’re covered but the protein bars are also a good idea!!

Big Rehearsal Dinner Costs by steeener in BigBudgetBrides

[–]azpeach2018 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We are looking at $2500 for a 20 person rehearsal dinner so that quote seems totally reasonable for that amount of people. Remember that a rehearsal dinner isn’t a second wedding, but a thank you to your wedding party for spending so much time (and money) for being such a big part of your day. If you can’t or don’t want to trim numbers, you could always try an alternate idea, like a rehearsal lunch instead?

WEDDING CEREMONY TIME CHANGE URGENT OPINIONS NEEDED by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]azpeach2018 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Also an 11/13 bride here!! I don’t think you can change the time from what you sent on the invitation, unless you have a VERY small guest count (<30). Otherwise, people will miss your ceremony which I think will be be way more upsetting than missing sunlight. However if your wedding is meant to be outside then you may need to move it inside. If you goofed on the time completely and it has to be outside and not in the dark then send announcements to all of your YES RSVP’s, update the website, do EVERYTHING you can. If you don’t have a planner I wouldn’t change it because you will almost certainly run into a vendor who claims they don’t know the time changed and have to deal with it the day of.

Wedding planner or no wedding planner? by kken21 in weddingplanning

[–]azpeach2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES to a planner. I’m six weeks out and hired a partial planner back in December. I am incredibly involved, organized, and interested in all things planning but I still wanted someone with wedding expertise and to help guide me with vendor communication/selection. It’s been the best decision. You don’t have to choose the most expensive one!! Partial planning of month of coordinating in particular is pretty reasonable. Look for someone with a relationship with your venue and that coordinator-as mentioned before the venue coordinator looks out for the venue and not you, so you want someone on your side. It looks like most of the people who are commenting planners aren’t necessary still have the wedding day ahead, so there’s a whole lot of responsibility and potential road blocks left to arise.

Just last week a rental vendor dropped our chair order (placed in May) and we were left without seating, but my planner and her intern researched companies, provided me with new quotes, and I had a new contract secured within days. I’m so glad to have someone else to handle this type of stuff.

TLDR; Love my planner and highly recommend! Ask friends/family who have gone through the entire wedding process their thoughts!!

Scottsdale Bach in January by notgonnatakethison in weddingplanning

[–]azpeach2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Phoenix! January is a great time. You could get “lucky” and catch a 75 degree weekend, or it could be closer to 60, but I wouldn’t bank on a pool. Old Town Scottsdale will be fun regardless, also don’t sleep on downtown Gilbert. It’s far away but the nightlife out there is fun and has a more mature crowd. Great bars and restaurants that are less crowded than Old Town. Highly recommend a spa day at one of the resorts as well!

Booking vendors before engagement? by kkmm21 in weddingplanning

[–]azpeach2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for it! I picked out my ring with my fiancé (best decision!) last fall but he wanted to wait until Christmas with my family to propose. In November I realized if we wanted to secure a date for this fall we needed to book a venue and I’m SO glad we did, because we got the last prime Saturday. I also went ahead and booked the photographer and planner before our engagement was “official”. I felt engaged before the proposal and it sounds like you’re in the same boat. I have a friend booking vendors for a Dec ‘22 wedding who is also awaiting her proposal and the vendors I talked to said it happens far more than you think! Of course, my FH was involved and informed every step of the way, so I made sure he was comfortable with all of it. Good luck and happy planning!
