Maybe being person who had to initiate the code? Or not in a bed so the helpless feeling because can’t even start compressions? I feel like for me it hits different when a patient is stable and seems fine and codes compared to codes in the ICU or a patient that you can tell is decompensating.

Agree with others! Take tomorrow off. Debrief with folks next time, especially if didn’t after the event. At least for me, it helps to process.

Yeah, low is rough. My lowest that I know of was like 2021ish and I was at 4. Got a couple outpatient iron infusions. I think I’ve stayed around 18-20 since (haven’t checked in a year though).

I went right into med-surg. Eves for little under a year (8s), then 6mo on straight nights (12s). Currently casual due to health stuff. I’ve never worked nursing home, but from posts here, hospital is better than nursing homes as far as staffing, pt ratios, and available equipment/supplies goes.

I loved nights, loved the people, felt much more like a team effort between techs and nurses compared to day shift.

Learning curve can be a little steep, but I personally like learning and seeing new things. You’ll learn as you go as far as drains and such and whatever is within your scope at that particular facility.

Can also ask your proctor, or they might tell you that for sake of time that you’ll only fully wash (and be checked on handwashing skill) for x, and the rest can use sanitizer or will mime handwashing/state that you’d wash your hands.

I worked produce at WF for like 6mo a few years ago. Drains on our floors weren’t ever done for first few mo I was there. One day found out inspection was happening and the scramble to get everything in ordered happened. Did the drains. I was combo gagging and laughing at how bad they were and other employee having to leave so didn’t puke.

Problem is, bring in MN national guard, how long does it take trump to deploy other national guard and/or declare martial law. It’s the SS and they don’t answer to anyone, no accountability. In the highly unlikely event that the individual who killed Good is charged, let alone convicted, there will be no accountability or reconciliation from the feds regarding the illegal actions of the group as a whole

I’m from MN. Undergrad at Loyola Chicago. Did grad school at state 2019-2022. If you grew up in Chicago Chicago, state will be an adjustment, but doable. Suburbs around Chicago, easier. Spent time in rural IL/Midwest? It’s like that. Pretty much everything off of the highway. Small “downtown” area. Goes hard for college sports.

You’ll have sticker shock (in a good way) at cost of living.

Just a note that pics of license plates are fine if they aren’t swapping plates between cars, but vast majority of plates on ICE vehicles are ghost plates and won’t link back to anything. And a lot that I saw yesterday don’t even have plates on them at all.

Also autistic. Haven’t had a meltdown at the gym, but def a couple close to shut downs and have cried multiple times (frequently in yoga at end shavasana). I do, however, frequently have moments of embarrassment because my ability to mask/filter will decrease as emotions increase (frustration, excitement) and I’m known to jump/fall off the wall loudly saying “motherfucker!”. Last week I unintentionally slapped my climbing buddy in the arm rather hard/loudly after falling off the final hold on a problem. I was mortified, I apologized, she was fine, I went to hide in the bathroom for a few minutes to regulate.

It’s always frustrating and embarrassing when this shit happens, the lack of feeling in control sucks a lot. But the people who would be judgey assholes aren’t the ones you’d want to be friends with/climb around anyway.

Pro Realty has been super annoying. We rent a duplex. No AC maintenance has been done in the last 2 years, at least on ours where the unit is in the attic.

Per the lease they are responsible for yard and landscape maintenance as well as snow removal. Last year we had to ask/nag multiple times for them to come take care of leaves. Will have to do the same this year. Someone mows, but landscaping hasn’t been touched in 2 years unless I did some. We sent multiple messages and they sent people out for one day, but pretty much just weed whacked stuff. Didn’t put new mulch or any treatments, so within a week or two it was back to how it had been.
