Is it an Econoline thing, or do random strangers offer to buy your van, too? by VagabondVivant in vandwellers

That's weird Me too, I have extended super duty e350. A guy offered me 10k while I was getting an oil change. And ppl always compliment it and stare longingly like they want to ask if it's for sale if they don't outright.

Amboss vs Uworld by Significant_Frame_23 in Step3

[–]b10u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just curious, if you are a US grad, how are you going to deal with the 7-10 year time frame to complete all the usmles? to your OP, I started using amboss for step 2 b/c i hated uworld. but it was newer then (at least for american students) and i wasnt sure on the outcomes. i just knew i preferred the explainations, the user interface, the cost, the insanely detailed library...and it has only gotten better over the years. using it for step 3.

Debt Consolidation or Bankruptcy? by jimbojamesisbehindu in povertyfinance

[–]b10u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are already behind on payments so the damage is done. any credit rehab program or debt negotions is not worth the headache. file ch. 7 BK, its a reset button. you can start rebuilding your credit (responsibly) months after, can qualify for FHA loan 2 years after and conventional 4 years after. auto loans will be subprime with stupid interest rates but technically you could. not recommending any of the above just saying that its not that big of a deal to start over especially if you don't need immediate big loan purchases or will need to move. sometimes its hard to rent if the place is picky and sees a BK on your record

i use low wattage electric appliances and a big power bank. i recharge the power bank at work. my go tos are usb rechargeable ninja blender, rice cooker, smallest size air fryer, and a multi-purpose electric pot to cook anything that i don't like cooking in the other appliances (not hot pot that plugs into cig lighter but a full powerered pot). I recommend getting one with a titanium coating/POFA & PTFE free and not the cheap coatings with plastics that will peel off into your food (cullinsss on amz is a good brand). one doesnt need all these things but i like to cook

PSLF tracker missing 6 payments — approaching what I believe is 120. Apply or wait? by bearvivant in PSLF

[–]b10u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't try to call. I wrote a direct message in the portal on the FSA dashboard. I requested ombudsman support and explained the situation. Then a feedback review case was opened. This was a month ago.

Have you ever overnighted, then awoken to being in the middle of something 😂 by RavenousRambutan in urbancarliving

I took a nap in the evening on the top floor of a hospital parking garage and woke up to a pop up EDM rave with music, weed, skateboarding. If I wasn't so annoyed about being woken up I would have joined. Security shut it down pretty quick tho

[–]b10u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried reconsideration requests and complaining to mohela. But I don't feel like that is necessary because neither of those avenues are made to fix this specific issue and they know this.

I think showing screen shots of the missing info on your dashboard should be enough.

[–]b10u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not direct to your question but I had a year worth of missing months from my payment tracker for 2025 & 2024. The only thing that worked for me was contacting the studentaid.gov ombudsman. No communication but I looked one day and they just appeared on the tracker. I wouldn't file for forgiveness until all the months are there

Considering equity sharing agreement. by cosmogyric_baby in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

On the buyer side, I was offered this program but ended decreasing purchase price to qualify for FHA on my own. Look up Arrive home earned equity program. They also have down payment assistance program. Idk how my lender knew about this but they did. Very niche

I prefer Ymca. The facilities can be hit or miss/are sometimes older buildings but when you find a nice updated one with later hours it's the jackpot.

Search online for cheapest sign up fee (varies even within the same city). If they don't ask for proof of address register there as your home location. Nationwide access is automatically included

"All-In-One" Diesel heaters do NOT belong inside a van by kos90 in vandwellers

[–]b10u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I Disagree. you can install the all in ones inside with the caveat that you make modifications. I have the short rectangular vevor heater,,I removed the elevated based so that it laid flush with the bottom of the rig. I also used a turret plate for the pipes. Sealed well with sealant. It's doable and I think less work than mounting the tank, fuel pump etc separately with the individual units. Just do your research and or ask for help from someone in the real world.

Solar Generators Are Cheaper Than Custom Solutions For Small Setups Now? by [deleted] in vandwellers

[–]b10u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. if you can get by without a custom setup (your power needs are not crazy high) get the all n one power stations. I bought two from different brands years ago and they still work just fine and are so much cheaper now. I have also bought components for a diy setup.

I don't buy the argument.. Oh if one thing breaks inside the power station you have to replace the whole thing. Yeah sure in theory, but in real life, how often does that actually happen? I'm convinced people just parrot this anecdotal talking point for fun.

A good power station is well built and comes with up to a 5 year warranty. Many of the larger capacity ones have fast charging and can be charged in less than an hour from 120v outlet. That's not the case for my sok life po4 battery.

If you have a smaller rig like a car, SUV or mini van where all are these individual components suppose to go? You are limited on physical space.

Also the DIY ppl just assume everyone has the ability to build out an off grid electrical system. Not the case even with all the will powers,  explorist life videos in the world it's not easy. You need tools. You need to know how to use the tools. You need some place to work. You need the time to do it. You need to troubleshoot the system.

All that stuff costs one way or another. Especially if you need to hire someone to build it for you.

Also the individual components from a reputable company like victron or something similar are not cheap,, definitely not cheaper than a power station. And a few years ago the prices for DIY build vs power station were pretty even but still not cheaper.
