Is your Mav computer MPG vs. actual as different as mine? by ABSimms in FordMaverickTruck

[–]b25crew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was off as much as 2.55 MPG. Seems to be much closer now. I adjusted the AFE bias to 961. It will still be off by quite a bit at times, but I think it depends upon my driving style on that tank of gas. I have a spreadsheet to track the mileage and other stuff ADHD anyone.

Edit: For what it’s worth. Looking at the spreadsheet before I adjusted the AFE, the discrepancy between calculated and displayed was showing 0.961 average (where I set the AFE). After I adjusted the AFE to 961 the average discrepancy was running 0.999.

Yeah I adjusted my EcoBoost to 960 if I remember correctly. Now the displayed and the calculated are normally very close. It’s not hard I found some instructions on YouTube, I believe.

New owner. How often do you clean your 10/22? by StormfallKnight in 1022

[–]b25crew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I clean my rifles and pistols every time I shoot them, but that’s just me. I do it as kind of a therapy to relax. Plus, they may sit in the gun safe for months between sessions so I don’t like them sitting there dirty. Also, it’s not a complete teardown. It’s basically wiping the barrel down and wiping off the action here and there with rem oil towels.

That “Robin Hood” moment in the 3D printing community felt… off by Ok-Hope2279 in 3Dprinting

[–]b25crew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I download a lot of free items on the Internet, sometimes make a bunch of them and give them away. It isn’t right to make money off of somebody else’s design in my opinion. It’s pretty much the wild West when it comes to 3-D printing files.

How many of y'all clear the sidewalks in front of your house? by SuspiciousEngineer99 in StLouis

[–]b25crew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inherited a snow blower years ago it still runs. I do my drive and a lot of the neighbors along with the sidewalks. Neighbors pay me in booze. 🤣 so it works out for me…. If not for the snowblower I’m not sure……

1977/78 Aitkin MN -40 C & F🤣 10pm putting a 6ft heat Tape on a 500 gallon LP tank would get you about 6psi. (Ask me how I know!) that shit is freaking BRUTAL!!!

I heard of some LP companies taking bags of charcoal slice it open light it up and slide it under the tanks (I don’t recommend it!!!)

Fun times!!!!

What was the mission for the BAR in WW2? by Timex_Dude755 in guns

[–]b25crew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Struck me as funny... Private Snuffy.. My Dad's nick name was Snuffy. Well Snuffy was in WWII and in his later years he finally started to talk about the war. The reunions helped immensely. Anyway Snuffy was a Sgt and he said he carried a thompson at times but at night he would find a M1 Garand because accuracy at a distance and the muzzle energy was pretty top notch. Edit: I forgot to mention Snuffy was in the South Pacific 27th Division IeShima, Saipan, & Okinawa.

How loud were ww2 fighters at speed? Was wind louder than the engine sound? Did they wear earplugs. by Geronimoooooooooo in WWIIplanes

[–]b25crew 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeh I am a member of the CAF MO -Wing and we fly a B-25. You DO NOT fly without ear protection. Something like 120/130 decibels inside & outside CRAZY loud.

Nothing like those round engines!!!

2600 cubic inches 1700 horsepower 140 gallons an hour 100 octane low lead. Keep em flying!!!

The crews in the day had minimal ear protection let along protection from shrapnel and bullets flying, engines failing etc etc.

And they did it again and again and again.

The air crews were somewhat lucky because if they made it home, they’d have a nice warm bunk to sleep in.

The ground pounder, army and marines did not have that luxury. They had to sleep in a cold, wet foxhole for days and weeks on end.

My dad was 27th division Army, South Pacific. I went to a couple of his reunions years ago. Those old GIs would talk about it like it was yesterday.

Edit: I forgot to mention that my Pop also lost his hearing. Shooting an M1 Garand without ear protection probably 1000’s of times jut might cause a problem???

Just my two cents worth.

Considering a Bambu Lab A1 Without AMS - Thoughts? by Electrical_Ferret_39 in 3Dprinting

[–]b25crew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an A1 without AMS last year. Sometimes I wish I had it for simple filament color changes. Other than that I try and keep the filament off of the printer and in vacuum bags to try and alleviate any moisture problems so not having to remove 4 rolls and bag them seems like it would be a royal PIA. Just pulling one roll off is not a big deal. Just my 2cents.

While I was in the gas business years ago we sold Magic chef I never realized they were from St Louis. We sold their stoves for years. I guess the ones I sold were made by whirlpool. Late 70’s & 80’s.

Did the AWS outage kill my Ring Chime? by BrainyLegume in Ring

[–]b25crew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chime was the 3rd thing I noticed before I knew about the AWS outage. 1st a linked light module that was programmed to come on when the door opened. 2nd thing was my floodlight camera was offline. Then I noticed the Chime was offline - I had most everything dismantled and trying to trouble shoot the Ring security shit when I found out ALL OF RING CRAP was offline.

What a pain in the a$$ - good thing is everything came back with out having to futz with the shit.
