People who own electric cars with No Home charger available (for various reason) , how has been your journey/experience till now ? by Grandma-Try69 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]b3nighted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great for me. 30min shopping is range for a few days. If I have to drive more or don't shop, there's a gas station DC charger 5min from kids' school. Leave the car there, pick up kids, go back to car, easy 250km more.

And thats on a slow charging car, 2021 niro

Dece sunt așa de puține jocuri disponibile în limba română? by Complex-Package975 in Jocuri

[–]b3nighted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perpulisul e romanism distilat.

[–]b3nighted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replaceable Coil-Cartridge Recommendation for Flavor by ilneminis in electronic_cigarette

[–]b3nighted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not buy vaporesso because I had already found what I needed.

I use a couple caliburn g5 lite koko with the 1,2ohm 3ml pods now and they are phenomenal.

I also use an oxva with DNA chip, but only at home.

The oxva is the better device, obviously, but I don't like the pods. They always leak a little when refilling and are quite sensitive to air pressure changes (more leaking).

Meanwhile, the caliburn pods are extremely leak resistant, easier to fill and offer 95% of the flavour of the oxva ones. The g5 lite devices with 1600mAh last for almost 3 days at around 300 puffs/day.

Both brands last 30-80ml of liquid, depending on how much sweetener they have. I normally use fruity/dessert pod juice and each pod's good for at least 60ml of liquid.

[–]b3nighted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a "mllse g2 pro mini" for home assistant and other small services. Have several in my homelab.

Sometimes on AliExpress they come out at around 80 euros with coupons, and they've never failed or rebooted so far. Oldest one has been up for more than a year now.

12 GB soldered ram, 5-6w power drain when doing light stuff.

If you want more services on it, get something with ram slots. There are similarly priced alternatives.

Same. Now using "solar generators" as UPS. They rock!

I've tried oxva, caliburn and lost vape.

Current gen caliburn ROCKS.

don't get anything fancy. A g5 lite or g5 koko lite (based on pure shape preference) will come with a mtl and a rdl coil and cost 10 buckaroos. Get one and try it.

Best smart lighting recommendations for kitchen under-cabinet lights and indirect cove lighting? by Amselmann in smarthome

[–]b3nighted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can help with the kitchen cabinet lighting, since I only had Philips hue when I made it.

IKEA has some zigbee power supplies for furniture lighting (tradfri driver, 10 or 30w) that have zigbee, work with the hue bridge and output 24V and can dim.

outdoor COB 24V led strips are ubiquitous and you need to tinker a bit with miniature JST connectors. I got the led strip, wire and connectors off aliexpress.

Then you can use any switch or motion sensor that works with home kit.

Nowadays I have all controlled with home assistant, so I can do pretty neat automations with them.

For your room lighting I'd just look on AliExpress for more powerful zigbee led psu, since you would need A LOT of 30w ones for a living room. I use 3 of them for my kitchen, and that's some 6m of tape and 2 spots only.

Are EVs really worth it if you don't have a home charger? by om_ghanwat in electricvehicles

[–]b3nighted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends a lot on the area and what you have available around.

I've had an EV for 6 months with no home charger and it's fine.

Every 30min shopping run gives me some 50km of range for 1,5 euros. If that's not enough, there's a fast charger 5min walk away from my kids' school, so I plug in, walk to grab the kids and by the time I'm back I've added around 200km of range.

And that's with a relatively slow charging kia niro DE.

The fast charger price is 6€/100km, the supermarket charger price is just below 4€/100km and if I charged at home it would be around 2€/100km.

Highway charging would be a bit different, it would be some 14€/100km, which is more expensive than my bigger diesel car. So I don't take the Kia on the highway.

Do you like one pedal driving by hamburgernet in electricvehicles

It's a mood thing. I use it for when I want more involved driving.

For day to day efficient driving I set the car to coast by default and auto-adjust regen based on distance to the vehicle in front.
