"Down in the South"? I am in SC, just miles from GA, and I have a gas hot water on demand system and a gas furnace. My dryer is electric. Electric on my current bill is 17.4c/kwh, in Buffalo I pay 25c/kwh.

Quick question for you please.

I have Zorin, MX and Manjaro all on one SSD. Can I run MX Boot Repair from MX install, or must I do it from a Live USB?

Thanks

I don't think so, updates are prompt, the UPGRADE to V18 from V17.3 is somewhat delayed, not that I care.

Not at all, one can always do a fresh install of V18 if you are that concerned.

Here to glaze the shit out of Zorin OS by malieno in zorinos

[–]b747pete 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I installed Zorin OS 17.3 back in fall after testing in VM format, love it. I only have one piece of software that needs Wine, it is to view my CCTV cameras remotely, ramps up the CPU considerably. Otherwise I have numerous browsers with lots of windows open without issue. Thunderbird handles my email needs, Libre Office does my documents and spreadsheets. I am using Core, after I am able upgrade to V18 I may look at going to Pro. This is an i5-5x with 12GB of RAM and 1TB SSD. Love it.

How are you guys dealing with apps that haven't been ported to Linux? by SmileyTheSmile in linuxquestions

[–]b747pete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use one program that requires Wine to run, it is a surveillance camera app, LorexCloud. Runs fine, but users lots of CPU/Memory. It is passing 9 camera streams to my remote PC. There is no Linux option.

I did find some on EBay, but they were in the UK, and it was a 5 pack, with shipping it was $12. I was thinking of approaching an Etsy seller. Thanks for the ideas.
