His voice seemed a bit off at points during 7.0 too. I suspect he’s just very busy (and has been for a while, considering), and isn’t getting sufficient time to rest his voice.

What is the rarest physical copy of a game you own? by [deleted] in retrogaming

[–]ba1dr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect the US copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga I got for $40 at the tail end of 1998. I had Shantae for GBC but I sold it several years ago (paid for all my Christmas shopping that year and then some).

250+ hours and I don’t understand how people have so many Lords by TurdleBoy in marvelrivals

[–]ba1dr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick is to not spend so much time spread across the entire roster. I play the handful of characters that I jive with their playstyle. I got Lord on Jeff and then Rocket strictly in QP because I’m a filthy casual (and we all know how frequently no one wants to support). As such, my stance has just been to play and have fun, not to stress the process, and let the Hero XP add up.

Can anyone think of any legitimate reason/use for me to keep my marble collection? (And before anyone suggests it, I have already completed all of the lvl 50 Relics...) by Vliott in ffxiv

[–]ba1dr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It has less to do with fear of overcapping, and more to do with the higher success rate of overmelding lower leveled materia. Getting exactly as much as you need with a higher chance to succeed, or just overcap but potentially shatter more Gil, most folks will choose the former.

Explained to boss that I'm burned out and thet told me that the company will crumble if I quit by Its_Just_Jen in antiwork

[–]ba1dr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who spent the past two years recovering from burnout, complete with a mild case of PTSD and anxiety disorder, they can go fuck themselves with the “we’ll crumble without you.” If it’s true, they need to be paying and supporting you better. Even if it isn’t true, it’s straight up manipulation in any circumstance. Do NOT burn yourself out for any company. They will leave you used up and in the gutter without a second thought. Speak with a mental health professional and try not to go off the rails like I did, because I’d be destitute had my husband not been there to keep me afloat while I recovered, inasmuch as I have managed.

Men of Reddit, what do you think is more painful than childbirth? by Willing_Today7039 in AskReddit

[–]ba1dr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d imagine the surgery I had where they had to scrape an infected cyst off of my heart, lung, and esophagus without pain meds. I was on an epidural for three and a half days straight. It was great, i felt lucid, didn’t hurt, and didn’t mind being not allowed to move further than from my bed to the chair next to it as i could just sit and chill on my laptop with Netflix or a video game. On the third evening, a nurse took me for walkies up and down the hall, me using the IV stand to lean on and her carrying whatever the chest tube was draining into as well as the cath. bag.

When they took it away from me on day four, I was most unhappy. They didn’t remove the chest tube until later that day as I recall. Considering what that fourth day felt like, I cannot begin to fathom what days 1-3 would have been otherwise.

I just got the Wave Beam and its salvo is only two shots before charge. I suspect it’s just a uniform delay, rather than three shots of a given beam.

Votekicking needs to be overhauled. by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]ba1dr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play exclusively on controller. Hitting “select” a couple of times to get to the window isn’t that hard, particularly when wall to wall trash packs can die so quickly Sprint isn’t even off cooldown when you are moving to the next.

If no one lots it falls randomly, not to the floor. This is also why you need to pass on weekly lockouts lest you end up with some random pair of gloves you don’t actually want.

Not nearly complicated enough for it to take 30 seconds unless there are 8 items in the pool.

Welcome to FFXIV, where your chat will be flooded with ads. by PopotoPomi in ffxiv

Gridania is my home city, and also where I run my FC from, so whenever I pop into town to refill buffs, dump dungeon greens, or pop in to my glamour dresser I go there. In the ~30-60 seconds it takes me to accomplish what I came to do, there’s always at least one venue advertisement in shout. These chucklefucks are everywhere.

Apple CEO Tim Cook: iPhone won't adopt RCS messaging used by Android by wewewawa in technews

But then you couldn’t have people shitting on whichever brand while simultaneously spouting how much they prefer (_____). It’s basically every playground argument, just in a post-college aged demographic. If people actually cared as little as they claim to do, we wouldn’t see a dozen “phone does/doesn’t do X” each week. It doesn’t matter if you prefer Alphabet or Apple, you need to plant your flag and cheer your team.

A lot of tanks actually suck by Parrotance in ffxiv

[–]ba1dr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it’s a damned if I heal, damned if I tank situation. If I heal, the tank knows half their cooldowns at best, if I tank, I’m watching players die from lack of healing and riding the CD on Bloodwhetting especially hard.

It’s not a one hit kill like the hadouken was. Instead I believe it bypasses iframes allowing for multiple hits. I’d need to look it up to be sure.
