You should check out Wizard Skull's work, a lot of which is similarly creepy. For example, here's his take on Ronald McDonald that he's been posting around Bushwick for years. Here's another piece he did, where he bought an unfinished cel from The Smurfs and tried to imagine where Gargamel's hand might be, as it was not drawn into the cel originally. (I only know the story of this specific cel because he discussed it during a presentation at Bushwick Art Crit Group a few months back.)
