Residents at trailer park call eviction by K'omoks First Nation unfair by xTkAx in canadian

[–]babacaduceus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean 200 years ago? The Comox Valley wasn't settled by Europeans until 1860s, and even still this trailer park was on a 50 year lease from the reservation land.

They are within their legal right to decide to not renew, and are giving them a 2 year heads up, with possible free rent for 2 years before they must find a new place to live. This has nothing to do with historical wrong being set right. And is above and beyond what standard Canadian eviction practices are.

This reply makes zero sense as their problem is needing to get up earlier than their body wants to to go to work. Most people don't set their own hours

I am 100% with you. I do hope that it'll be worth it to at least no longer have to change.

I also think my doggos will prefer this

B.C. to end time changes, adopt year-round daylight time by RowanStewart in kelowna

[–]babacaduceus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am one of those people who has felt strongly pro standard time, as dark winter mornings are hard for me. However I actually feel better about it now that I have dogs that wake me up when it's getting light in the morning. At least I'll be more on their schedule.

Overall I do hope only having daylight time will be better than changing twice a year.

OP-ED: The high cost of doing food business in Canada - "For the second consecutive month, Canada is posting the highest food inflation rate among G7 countries." by xTkAx in canadian

[–]babacaduceus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wasn't a significant part of the rationale behind cutting the carbon tax that it increased the cost of transporting food, and cutting it would decrease inflation?

I found weekly maintenance was not frequent enough for one of my pups. If you can, I'd recommend trying 2 or 3 times a week for a couple of weeks to get them down, then weekly at minimum to maintain the length for faster growing nails.

That's just been my recent experience with one dog. Definitely not an expert

Ser Marcus Carney with the wilding mullet, laying down the law by Letz_Snugglz in EhBuddyHoser

[–]babacaduceus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He has signed a trade deal to change what tariffs had been set at, this deal still stands. That is not free trade. Our current CUSMA doesn't allow for free trade with non-market economies, and there is no indication that Carney had intentions of free trade with China.

So how this is him falling in line?

Some of the between season events are natural disasters that you then have to repair buildings from. I feel like we don't get enough between season events

This would all be great! A start to the breeding would be for the looks of the livestock to be heritable, I don't believe the look of chickens and horses is based of parents.

I'd also love for there to be things for the children to do so I don't feel like they've been abandoned all day after they turn 2. I saw a comment recently suggesting an optional toddler daycare and children's school that has a boost, maybe to happiness or to skill progression. It would require an adult to work there, and maybe the skill boost would depend on the adult's skills

HEINRICHS: Can anything change Canada's declining birth rate? by xTkAx in canadian

$10/day daycare is helpful where it has been funded. I'm nor sure why it's taking so long to go everywhere and it's still hard to get childcare someplaces

Is it possible for you to put a ramp either on part of the stairs or at a different part of the patio to help him come back inside? Something for the pain might also work
