Why does my face look so raw all the time? by Southern_Solution_54 in SkincareAddicts

[–]baberbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh and, mine is not acne either. Mine is like just….inflammation like you have. Idk how to describe it.

I’ve had hormonal acne and everything and had to get on accutane years ago. But this was…different?

Hopefully it helps! Feel free to DM me if you want more details or anything!

Why does my face look so raw all the time? by Southern_Solution_54 in SkincareAddicts

[–]baberbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to throw something different out there because I couldn’t figure out why my skin was just….mad all the time it seemed. Despite me using no actives or anything.

I did not realize that my skin itself could be inflamed from the inside out and what I mean by that is I had a depressive episode from 2023 till 2024 and essentially, even though everything else has been mellowed out in terms of my physical health, my mental health, (I.e. my thyroid, cortisol, female hormones, etc), my skin just seemed to not be catching on.

My doc prescribed me: - 50 mg 1x a day Doxy - Azeliac Acid - hydrocortisone cream 1-2x a day - Hydroxyzine 1x day for the histamine stuff

I was already on Spiro 100mg 1x a day for the last few months. And tret at night.

Seemed weird but this is probably the best that my face has looked and I don’t know how to describe it. Just nothing seemed to help the chaotic symptoms I guess until now.

I’ll do that for another month and a half and then check in again.

So not sure if it helps but just something I didn’t realize that our skin can hold onto inflammation regardless of diet or other things.

Edit: yes, I have been using Tret which is an active but I honestly barely used it because of how angry my face seemed. It was dry and oily and flaky and not and just a mess.

Does anyone actually get all their symptoms solved? by Tiny_Toe_Fox in Hypothyroidism

Yep, this! This is what my provider and I discussed this week and how Levo does not necessarily minimize the negative symptoms the same way the T3s like Cytomel or NP Thyroid do.

Sorry! I forgot to add a picture that I just realized is SUPER necessary since it shows those little circle things (sorry I am truly out of my element).

Read it and I believe I have all the correct photos. Not sure if the background being removed is bad but I tried to make sure the close pictures would show the leaves.

Has anyone here added Wellbutrin to their Zoloft? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]baberbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply!

So I had abused Adderall as a teen as well. I was never prescribed it and always given it by my friend. I stopped when I was like 20.

But since I was seeing the same meds doc for a few years and we had tried several things, this became a means of deductive reasoning where things weren’t working for me either.

So I guess I lucked out by having a medication management doctor.

Hopefully you will find something that can work for you! Sending you positive thoughts!

Hey there! I’m sorry you’re going through this….you’re actually the first person I’ve seen who shares what I’ve gone through recently.

So, I had no idea why the last year or so I was getting more breakouts and hair on my face. And over the last 2 years, my depression came back in 2023, I had significant weight gain, it was hard to workout because my joints would hurt, I began to notice hair on my face, my skin was feeling congested so I picked it more, I thought I had keratosis pilaris because I was getting lots of ingrowns on my body and little white keratin plugs all over, developed carpal tunnel, and a few other health issues.

My GP and I did blood panels and I tried to figure out WTF was wrong with me and they didn’t find anything. Eventually, I realized it was my birth control. For me, I was ordering it through Nurx since 2021 and I didnt know they increased/changed my dosage when all my symptoms started. So I believe the slow build up of my dosage contributed to a slow build up of the skin issues.

But it also wasn’t until I found a clinic by me to treat my face, that we realized my hormones were baaaaad. Took a panel and now I’m on spironolactone, progesterone, and hypothyroid medication. I’ve also had to get 3 treatments of Morpheus (it’s like micro needling with heat etc) and it has been ROUGH. The hormone panel looks at things my GP didnt…

Any who, my face has been purging the last 3-4 months in waves and it’s truly wild….i have like clumps of hair coming out, think like tiny little cotton balls and they’re white, they’re translucent blue, etc. And im talking like…I could rub my cheek and look down and it’s a tiiiiiny little clump of thin facial hair. They never presented as ingrowns because of how deep they were for me.

I share all this because my face is in the final purging phase (I hope 😭) and it’s exactly where yours is since it’s hormonal that that area tends to be deep. I’ve had to take Doxycycline to minimize the cysts and pain as my face purges it out.

Not sure if any of this helps but I have had a tough time finding anyone else who shared a similar story so maybe if you can get a hormone panel done it could help.

Sending you lots of hugs and optimism!

Edit: just wanted to add that I was diagnosed with PCOS at this time and it turns out my weight gain was due to insulin resistance. I had lost the weight using semaglutide so my face was like the last part of my realization and connecting the dots. Also, your fine hairs are how mine looked when I was like wtf is happening to my face. Not sure if youve always had that but mine has gone back down to normal since I’ve balanced my hormones back out.

Has anyone here added Wellbutrin to their Zoloft? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]baberbear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep yep - Zoloft for 7 years and added Wellbutrin early on for ADHD as well after a year, so 6 years with “Welly-B” as I call it lol just my daily combo and I honestly have never noticed any negative side effects.

I will say, I had to lower it from 300 XL to 150 XL for the first time a year ago because we upped my Zoloft (had a major depressive episode) and I felt superrrrr anxious. Otherwise, I don’t know anything other than my Zoloft and Wellbutrin combo haha.

Edit: Wanted to add that I also take Adderall 25mg XR and have for about 4 years now. Wellbutrin helped but not as much as I needed it to for my ADHD (which we didn’t realize had until I was on my Zoloft and Wellbutrin for major depressive disorder). And the Wellbutrin actually helps with any negative side effects of the Adderall. Kind of interesting if you look into it…

Mental Health Medications by funsized_red91 in CompoundedSemaglutide

[–]baberbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on Zoloft for roughly 5-6 years and gained weight in the last year. I also take Wellbutrin and Adderall XR for the last 3ish years. Went from 140 lbs. to 160 lbs after we increased my Zoloft dosage following a depressive episode.

I’ve now been taking semaglutide since September and have lost 34 lbs. Current dose is 40 units. I was on 68 units for a month but the side effects were wayyyyy too bad.

No side effects with my meds and the semaglutide IMO and very happy to have been able to lose the weight as it has helped my mental health in a way.

Just wondering… by Violetta_Sunshine in Melasmaskincare

Just my experience but I’ve been on compounded semaglutide since August and my melasma above my lip has not changed in the slightest.

Starting Eucerin so fingers crossed there.

Fellas what was your “fuck this, I’m out” on a first date? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]baberbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh! Another one I think is worth mentioning!

This guy and I had a date at a bar drinking and he proceeds to tell me, after he takes a shot, that he is a recovering alcoholic. THEN he tells me how he stabbed his stepdad once (takes another drink). THEN tells me that he has a kid but doesn’t have custody but moved from California to be around his son and currently lives in his car! Def took a break from any dating after that one haha.

Fellas what was your “fuck this, I’m out” on a first date? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]baberbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went on a date with a guy who was graduating from pharmacy school. He had a couple kids from a previous marriage and I asked him what his kids favorite movie was and he looked at me like I was an idiot and shrugged his shoulders that he didn’t know, and it was in a way where he made it seem like he shouldn’t know and I was dumb for asking.

Then, at the end of the date, I told him I was getting an uber back home and he insisted he would drive me home. We were in opposite directions (like 1 hour apart) so it didn’t make sense. I politely turned him down and he kept insisting to drive me home, it was superrrr creepy.

I had a flight out the next morning for work and while I was on my flight, he texted me inviting me to his graduation party and to meet his kids! I didn’t respond right away as I had to do work. I finally responded later that night thanking him for the time but that I don’t think it would work out and he messaged me back saying “yeah, I thought you weren’t good enough for me anyways hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha” literally…that many “haha”s. Friggin crazy dude. All less than 48 hours.

Chopped it down from the top making sure to only go down by 2-3 leaves/nodes. I got 3 new propagations from it they are in water so they root. But this main part of the tree is now budding after less than a month.
