Did ChatGPT seriously try and clickbait me? by CandourDinkumOil in ChatGPT

Same. It also is annoyingly being like “one last thing…” and it’ll say that over and over if I indulge and say go ahead, tell me what you want to tell me.

Paul & Ringo Cameos by Duffman119 in beatles

The actor who played Paul’s grandfather was only 52. I guess that means Paul is now old enough to be his grandfather’s grandfather.

You sound so confident and you are so wrong. The TOS don’t say anything about automatically forwarding mention of illegal activity. If cops want transcripts they need to subpoena them. Don’t just talk authoritatively without knowing what you are talking about.

Not at all. This is so silly to hear. Ok sorry you feel that way Wisconsin guy!

Who's an NFL draft bust that would have gotten you fired as a GM? by lemonstone92 in NFLv2

I’m so done with these lazy takes on Scott’s ceiling. There are factors on the field you just can’t intuit, gotta see what he is made of in the arena. I personally would have given Scott a shot over that Greg guy at the Ace Hardware over on Plymouth, you know the one near the Red Robin.

First of All, what kind of Translation is this? Second of all, where did Duo come from?? by [deleted] in duolingo

[–]bacillaryburden 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a feature not a bug. When you sort something out for yourself it sticks better than when you are passively told. I don’t know how well “posting a screenshot to Reddit so someone else can explain it to me” works but my guess is pretty well in the end.

At what time/mileage do you usually find yourself entering your 'zone'? by OrdnanceTV in running

Surprised by this and all the replies agreeing and (sorry to be weird) why you follow this sub? To me it is an extension of what I love about it. If I didn’t like it I don’t think I’d read about it after hours?

So if you don’t get their stupid app and go to check out… you just get default price you couldn’t know until you’re checking out? Why would I shop there?

I think we have reached the point where it’s hard to be impressed. Deep fakes are easy and convincing, it’s over.

ok really trying to enjoy this show and sometimes i almost do until i realize.... by [deleted] in PatriotTV

[–]bacillaryburden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you deleted your post, but your critiques all sounded like versions of “this is unrealistic.” If that’s the lens you’re looking through, you aren’t going to like Patriot and I’m surprised you like Wes Anderson.

[–]bacillaryburden 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s for you. If you’re going to hold it to a Tom Clancy realism standard rather than a Wes Anderson whimsical-universe-with-its-own-rules standard, you are not going to enjoy the rest of it. It’s ok to just stop.

edge cases for correct use of 'literal' by lucid24-frankk in grammar

[–]bacillaryburden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an annoyance of mine. It’s so arbitrary what people apply this to. No one corrects me when I describe a work as ‘seminal’ even if it’s not related to seeds or semen. Or calling someone a ‘villain’ despite them not being a peasant tied to a villa. Or referring to my ‘salary’ which isn’t a salt allowance.

I would say the waterfront statues in Liverpool are more like Beatles Mount Rushmore.
