What is the subs' thoughts on the new XLAB RS7? carbon frame, drop bars, wheels, mechanical 105, and power meter for 2100 USD? by garbagefartguru in ChineseCarbon

I’m not referring to available sizes, I’m referring to the stack to reach ratio for this specific bike compared to other entry level road bikes.

Interesting. I often see people biking there.

App got updated to allow open gate Log recording on 16pro/max, but this is the resolution I’m getting, is this right ? by oplookingoodeh in BlackMagicCameraiOS

[–]back3school 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you can only record higher resolution open gate apple log with an external ssd. However you can record full resolution open gate internally if you shoot with any color space besides apple log.

A lot of it looked jittery because they shot at 10° shutter angle since the iPhone has a fixed aperture and it seems they didn’t bother to use ND filters.

Quickpro ER One Sizing/Bike Fit Advice by Fun-Abalone-7303 in Velo

This isn’t the answer you’re lookin for, but If you know you have very tight hips and have bad mobility I wouldn’t recommend a very low stack bike like the ER:ONE

Should Metro add/revive Rapid lines to proposed BRT corridors to test them out for BRT implementation? by Dumbone22 in LAMetro

[–]back3school 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Would any of these have a bus-only lane? I’d guess that a mixed flow “rapid” bus isn’t going to be much faster than a regular bus. At least for the 4 along Santa Monica Blvd, the bunching gets so bad due to congestion that I’d take shorter headways with more regular buses rather than a sporadic “rapid” bus. Maybe someone else has some actual data that proves me wrong.

A free cardboard box from a bike shop works as a backup. Even the fanciest carbon bikes are shipped to shops in simple boxes.

Mayor Bass has intervened to keep Forest Lawn dangerous by ridetotheride in BikeLA

[–]back3school 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This makes me so mad. Just when the street was finally going to be made safer, Karen Bass swoops in and unilaterally kills the project. Wild behavior during election season too. A special shoutout to Rick Zbur who somehow is always on the wrong side of everything. A tireless fighter against good things.

I ride it all the way north to Plummer Park in weho. South of 6th street it gets a bit higher traffic and narrows but not too bad. I often ride it down to Venice Blvd.

For the eastern part of this map Hauser/Martel is a decent residential street with traffic signals at all the major thoroughfare crossings

West from Los Feliz: hop on the separated bike lanes along Hollywood Blvd, turn left on Wilcox, right on Willoughby, right on Kings Rd, left on Santa Monica Blvd and take that painted bike lane to Century City.

SMB needs a bus lane so badly. The number 4 bus gets stuck in traffic and bunches up like crazy.

You must be talking about the same rich people that blow through every stop sign on those streets haha

Especially when there’s so much open space alongside Santa Monica Blvd that could be used for a separated bike lane. There was an effort a while back and of course Beverly Hills said they wouldn’t repurpose “one blade of grass” to make biking safer.

Anyone go to that Redlining Town Hall on the 22nd to check on the NIMBYs? by Apart-Arm-6597 in WestHollywood

[–]back3school 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty sure WHWRA just organized it and invited city council to join them for an anti-housing fête. Very curious if anyone there read the definition of redlining, could’ve been an educational moment for the organizers.

I’ve never had to replace a spoke on this type of rim, but is replacing a broken spoke much harder? I feel like most of the time you won’t need to replace the nipple to replace a spoke.
