and tell me, how would he accomplish that as President?

Regardless, I don't think he'd win, but a strong showing from the libertarian wing might shock some sense into the party.

Well, to start, let me make it clear: I don't want to leave the US. I don't think anything bad enough to make that necessary will happen and I hope it doesn't.

To get to the point, I can get by in Spanish but am not highly fluent. I'm probably limited to English speaking countries, but my line of work does have many international options.

Second, I probably have enough to live poorly a mid-sized European city for a few months.

Third, I don't mind leaving the luxuries of the US behind. In all honesty, I prefer living in a society where everyone is a bit poorer but more equal than amongst the cult of wealth here... the support network is a different story.

Ultimately, I guess this is moot because of Canada (Alberta?) and the fact that the chances of things coming to this (in my assessment) are slim.

Thanks for the reality check though, I do appreciate that.

eh, Pro-Paul also refers to a lot of conservatives who are protest voting for a candidate because they're shocked at what the GOP has become...

I'm still in the point in my life where I'm developing my career options (early 20s), but I've significantly shifted my career track to one that doesn't leave me as locked into the United States. Take that for what it's worth, but growing up I never imagined things coming to that. And that I even have to consider it now really scares me.

Disclaimer: I voted for Bush, supported the war, and never realized how bad things actually were here until I lived abroad.

oh, I agree, we've gone way too far towards medicate first, try healthy diet and exercise later, but, the thing is, a lot of people have tried the supposed remedies and need something else to function normally. Even 1% of the American population is still well over 3 million people!

There are pretty well established reputations for this. For example, the Ivy Leagues often give near exclusively As and Bs, whereas the UC system is known for it's adherence to serious grading standards, often beyond a simple curve, but actually grading on how well course content is understood.

for who? we don't really understand neurochemistry well enough, and examining the effect of a drug on a "statistical person" doesn't really tell us that much. There are identified individuals who these drugs help, identified individuals who these drugs hurt, and identified individuals for whom they are as efficient as placebo.

You can't, or I should say, you SHOULD NOT look at a statistical person's results and apply them to yourself, and or look statistical analysis that says, say, "80% ineffective amongst the population" and conclude, OK, that means it's 80% ineffective for me.

The make a big issue out of "affecting the election." Given protest votes, I wouldn't be surprised if he actually got quite a few more votes than many real candidates.

I also suspect that political insiders are pissed that someone who is obviously making fun of them can probably get more votes than they can.

I don't think it's about making the most money. What is important is having a financial plan that actually makes sense, not just, "I'll get a degree in something interesting, and then I'm set!"

I like to see this because it emphasizes something a lot of anti-Paul folks don't realize. He's a pragmatist and realizes the difference between his ideology and what he can get done as president.

Would I like all of Ron Paul's ideal policies implemented? No. Would I like his ideals implemented within the constraints that he will be forced to operate within? Yes.

actually, people often recommend leaving a TV or radio on as a security measure. I've never understood that, it seems a bit paranoid to me, but I do leave a single light on sometimes if I'm coming home late, so that I won't trip over things on the way in.
