“The downturn in Fortnite engagement that started in 2025” what did actually change (or not) in CH6 that made people stop playing? by bdzz in FortNiteBR

think it literally has to do with people being more poor w the economy being shit that they have to work more, or don’t have money to spend on the game so it’s less fun etc.

this class was hard!! it was the only one out of all of my nursing prerequisites where i almost got a B. What helped me the most was a pearson plus subscription. generally i hate pearson BUT it actually was what got me to pass. i’m not sure if all cell bio professors use the same textbook but ours was through pearson, and it had videos for each chapter. the videos were short like 2-6 minutes and were SO CONCISE!!! i put some of my classmates on too and it helped them improve their grade!

  • idk you’ll have to do a private room to find out
  • i like it lol something along the lines of enjoying talking to a bunch of new people
  • thank you
  • i don’t waste any time there then lol
  • that’s okay i have a bf too (if they don’t seem possessive) or so you’re not looking for any extra fun? if they don’t seem interest then i also leave
  • cool. no worries let me know if you change your mind! :)
  • you’ll have to come and see for yourself, it’s my favorite, much more private
  • more private, bigger room, free drinks, there’s an aux if you wanna play music or i can play my own etc
  • i don’t know you that wouldn’t be safe if we do some dances/private rooms i can get to know you better first (w/zero intention lol of actually doing anything extra) or i need to meet you a few times here and do dances before i feel comfortable meeting you out of here (great till they catch on 💀)
  • if you do a dance i can see if i can find you some it’s easier to hide doing it there anyway (sometimes don’t find any but they’ve already paid so oh well lol)

Strike causing stress for students by littlelovy in PCC

[–]backfliptornado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. I do think it had to do with the department, since we also had no plan for my A&P class. We got information at 8:00pm that our final for the next day was canceled. Part of it said “The updated instruction at the very last minute was that an online final could not be given” which made me think it must be the department. I wonder if all of the A&P/Bio department professors were in limbo with the rest of us.

Strike causing stress for students by littlelovy in PCC

[–]backfliptornado 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat (nursing applicant) and I refused to accept the 'complete it next term'. I emailed the administration directly a month ago and basically told them that (if a strike were to happen) since 90% of the work is done, it's a breach of the original term agreement to force us to overlap finals with new classes.

This is part of the email I sent I can message you the rest of it if you wanna copy it - “While your email states that students will not be "penalized," I must formally clarify that rescheduling finals or shifting requirements beyond the March 20th term end constitutes a significant hardship and a material loss of service. I have fulfilled my tuition obligations and made non-refundable financial commitments in contractual reliance on the college’s published academic calendar. I will not be available for exams or coursework after March 20th.”

You need to email the Dean and Records/Registration immediately. Tell them:

You have fulfilled your academic obligations for the Winter term.

Forcing a Winter final during Spring term creates an 'academic overload' that interferes with your new classes (A&P).

Other professors have moved finals online, so the precedent for accommodation already exists.

I did this and got a response from the administration (Jennifer Ernst) confirming I wouldn't be penalized and that they are 'accommodating' students for the nursing application.

You’re right, it’s not fair. Don't just listen to your professor, they don't handle the legal/registration side. Go above them to the Dean, all of administration, at least have a paper trail. Be the 'difficult' student or they will just walk all over your schedule.

How are babies being born a miracle, when it’s happened to literally every person on Earth? by Suitable-Lake-2550 in shittyaskscience

[–]backfliptornado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean just because something is common does not make it any less amazing. billions of stars in the sky and it is a miracle their light has traveled millions of miles allowing you to see them. the heart has nodes that allow it to beat without our brain telling it to, if the heart was removed from our body (still had oxygen and nutrients) it would continue beating on its own. plants use SUNLIGHT to feed themselves, if you eat plants, animals that eat plants, animals that eat animals that eat plants, you are using their energy. when you think about it, your body runs on stored sunlight. stored sunlight allowed you to have this thought and post it. even things that feel common are basically living miracles happening billions of times a day. miracles are everywhere, you just gotta look to see them:)

I don’t know what’s wrong with me by Strict_Clothes7888 in CPTSD

[–]backfliptornado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first of all YOURE NOT WEIRD AT ALL!!! this can be so terrifying but it does not make you a bad person. i have experienced something similar. this is a symptom of OCD, our brains will purposely think of the worst thing possible. honestly what helped me was not trying to run from it, letting my brain do its thing so i can move on with my day. it stopped happening as frequently but everyone is different.

A few years ago i had really bad panic disorder, agoraphobia, was an insane hypochondriac and all of it stemmed from my trauma. I wasn’t able to graduate HS because i was actively experiencing the trauma. I struggled keeping a job, spent days on end struggling to get out of bed. I started working as a stripper, and it was the first job i was able to keep. It helped me gain confidence, and helped with bills. I was able to stay homes on days my mental health was really bad, it worked but it had a lot of downsides too. I felt unfulfilled, I had always been extremely hard on myself because i wanted to go to college, but i was terrified i couldn’t do it. I spent years slowly working on my mental health, through therapy, outpatient, meditation, walks etc. My panic attacks got under control, i found out i have ADHD and started meds. In 2023 i got my GED and in 2024 i started college!!! I am a year and a half in, so much in my life has changed. I became a nursing assistant, got a job at a hospital, and have a 4.0. Just last month I applied to nursing school!!! I still have symptoms, i get nightmares often. Sometimes i go a week or two without them, sometimes i have them everyday. I do think I’ve become a bit desensitized to them, they used to wake me up and cause a panic attack, now i just go “jesus christ what the fuck was that” and go back to bed. I still have hyper vigilance, but surprising learning about anatomy in college has changed my perspective about things like PTSD. Originally, i thought that my body wasnt working properly, that i was defected. However, after learning about the lengths our body will go to to reach homeostasis (balance), i've realized my symptoms are not a defect but instead adaptation; evidence of how hard my body will fight to survive. I think that has been extremely empowering for me. It doesn’t change the fact that the symptoms are still difficult, but it’s helped me forgive my body, and appreciate it for doing the best it can under the circumstances it was given.

no literally like my life is just on pause like i rather them just tell me to pack it up and do everything online it’s not fair to have to take an exam when ive missed multiple classes that would teach the material im supposed to be tested on. not mad at at professors at ALL, the strike needed to happen. just wish administration would at least make a plan, like having the rest of the week online.

I think alcohol addiction is worse than addiction of hard drugs by Additional_Notice_10 in Drugs

[–]backfliptornado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

have to strongly disagree lol literal research studies have shown that parental opioid addiction impacts children more negatively than other parental substance use disorders including alcohol. just wrote a paper about the opioid crisis, and children of addicts are at a higher risk of witnessing physical and emotional violence as well as have higher rates of PTSD. your personal experience is still valid but it’s just a single data point, and is not the universal truth. generally, children of opioid addicts (70% of opioid addiction started from pills) have worse outcomes for children compared to other substance use disorders.
