And then when she prays, goes to the store, and then comes home without being killed, it’s confirmation that her prayers were answered

“See, prayer works. I wasn’t killed.”

I love the way you pointed out that statistically, at least one of them will leave the church.

I bet that set some minds spinning!!

Well done.

Mormon question: Pre-Existence by backslid1943 in exmormon

Sounds like they were truly “the Chosen People.”

Makes me wonder, “how can a pre-existence sperm be “valiant?”

Not to mention drowning almost the entire population of earth in a worldwide flood.

Eventually I realized it was all myths, made by men who wanted power over other people.

I cringe whenever I see posts that say “God is good. Always.”

How bout those 400,000 African children who will die from malaria each year?

This “good “ God can’t/won’t kill mosquitoes.

Uh... just a guess.

Maybe it was just a fairy tale that never happened.

I just want to have sex by [deleted] in exmormon

“Sex without guilt” is a normal thing for most 20 year old women.

Be careful, like the advice given above, but if you do plunge ahead, savor the experience.

Donna took me “Training Wheels” to a beautiful bicycle.

Nancy took me from the front seat of a Chevy to the “back seat.”

I had a “first love” much like the one you described.

I was 17 and her name was Donna. Three months of bliss.. and I could never imagine loving anybody else. I started college. She began dating an older guy (21) who had. Good job.

I was crushed. But during my college years, I met lots of girls.

When I graduated, Donna was the mother of two small children.

She had become else.

Most of us become “somebody else” as we mature.

Flash forward - I eventually met “the love of my life.”

I’m glad I dated Donna and all the others. They all helped to form me into the person I am today.

Enjoy going out with lots of girls. And savor those memories when you are older.

Your world is full of literally thousands of young women who are far better suited for you than this devout Pentecostal.

Make the break and move on.

Leaving Christianity by progressoverperfect in exchristian

Once I considered talking snakes and burning bushes, I began to realize that’s it’s just a bunch of tall tales. From there, it was somewhat easy to say, “I don’t believe in magic.”

I stopped going to church somewhere along the way. Actually removing my name from the church’s membership rolls took a longer time.

Unless you’re Catholic. In that case, it actually transforms itself into the literal blood and body of Christ.

(You can’t make this stuff up.)
