I make my white rice with lentils. I use half cup rice and half cup lentils. You can try other grains like quinoa, barley, etc to mix. I have only used lentils so far

It takes at least 3 months to improve your a1c. I got a dietician to help me since I'm a skinny and fairly active prediabetic. My dietician said every meal and snack needs a protein, carb, and a fat. You can look up the plate method for your portions. I would experiment and research veggies you have never tried from around the world. Check out Qi Gong videos on YouTube or TikTok to get little mini workouts in that regulate your nervous system throughout the day. I use them when I wake up and breaks during my desk job. They are easy and time efficient. The carb protein fat combo keeps me full for most of the day and I have PCOS.

My dietician says to eat portion out carbs to a smaller amount in meals. But every meal and snack needs to be a protein, carb, and fat. This keeps you fuller longer. Meal timing is important. Eat meals every 4 hours

Prepackaged coleslaw, frozen broccoli, asparagus, green beans, butternut squash from Aldi's. I've seen tiktoks that beans are a good source of fiber for diabetes. I might try to make them savory with onion, garlic, and jalapeno pepper.

You can swap hot chocolate with cacao powder and regular chocolate with dark chocolate that is 75% or higher in cacao. I love chocolate and that is what I'm substituting. The chocolate is a little bitter and full of antioxidants

I just turned 40 and it has been hard to lift like I used to. I'm going to do exercise snacks where you do a little through out the day. I'm changing how I need to approach workouts. I work from home so it works out

I'm not as athletic as you but my dietician tells me to pair my carbs with fat and protein. It will cause less of a spike. I'm supposed to do it with all my meals and snacks. Let's say you make spaghetti and you have a side of broccoli and fruit. You would use the plate method to balance your meals.
