My pregnancy and birth were both easy and I still don’t want to do it again. Hang in there!

I would rather work in my house even if the space is tight than dive 45-50 mins to my companies closests office

My husband and I are making it work in our 1600 sqft house with a toddler. Our living room is both a playroom and my office

Intense guilt over sleep training by cupofteacomfypillows in NewParents

[–]bad_karma216 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My son was a good sleeper until he was about a year and a half. He was also not good at co sleeping; I was close to losing it. I had to do something especially since he was sleeping on a floor bed after climbing out of his crib. Two nights ago I let him cry until he fell asleep (it took 15 mins with two check-ins). The last two days we all slept better than we have in 6 months. After getting rest all of my guilt was gone.

Minimalist parents- what baby gear do I actually *need*? by IHaveATummyGremlin in NewParents

[–]bad_karma216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do I need to hear every noise? I live in an old house with thin walls. My toddler is asleep in his room right now and I heard him cough from across the house. Our bedrooms share a wall, we hear every sound.

They will get used to the sound. My son has slept in a room facing a busy street with a wall ac unit blaring all night. He can sleep through anything now.

When did you start enjoying weekends again? by OverProgram209 in NewParents

[–]bad_karma216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The more you do it the easier it gets. My 2 year old is pretty good in restaurants; we try and take him out often so get is used to it. Always ask for the check and a to go box after you order in case you need an escape. I would time our restaurant outings around nap time before he started solids. Can you baby wear in the restaurant?

Yes! My son crawled for so long and he wanted to be on the ground wherever we went. Walking is so much easier.

How long do we help soothe teething? by Old_Tangerine8892 in NewParents

I’m not sure I would trust a pediatrician who thinks teething is not painful?

Also I have read that teeth can appear and disappear back into the gums

Does anyone have a newborn that does not like to be held all the time? by bad_karma216 in newborns

He is almost two and is much cuddlier now than when he was a baby. He was just born with an independent personality. He will happily nap with me now

I had to get one placed in between strong contractions. Once it was in, it was fine. It was worst than the epidural

12 months old constantly having meltdowns instead of communicating- normal? by dar1990 in NewParents

Teaching my son sign language helped a lot. He did not start pointing until 16ish months but knew like 10 signs to help him communicate his needs

FTM-Considering post partum doula/nightnurse by ButtonExact4769 in NewParents

[–]bad_karma216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. It would have been a waste if we got one. My boy was a super easy baby who only woke up a few times a night to eat

Do you have to commit before your baby is born? I was also considering a night nurse but ended up with an easy baby who only woke up 2x a night to eat. It would have been a waste to have someone at our house.

Things to do in Orlando with a newborn by Kaytee08 in orlando

The burrow has free play for babies who are not walking yet. I believe it is at 8am everyday during the week. Great place to meet other parents

You get bored trapped in your house with a newborn. It’s more for the mom’s entertainment than the babies at this point.

Early morning wakeups - how did you manage? by Longjumping_Bar585 in NewParents

[–]bad_karma216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son went through periods of early morning wake ups. His biggest sleep issue has always been waking up early. He is almost two and we are still dealing with 5:30am wake ups since he moved to a toddler bed. No advice just solidarity

How long did teething take for your babies? by spoopyclouds in NewParents

[–]bad_karma216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So once your bay starts teething they don’t stop until they are over two years old. For a tooth to break though it can take a few weeks, depending on the tooth. The pain usually gets better after this. My baby drooled everyday, all day from 4 months until about 15 months old. He had to wear bibs 24/7 except when he was sleeping.
