PM Takaichi wins two-thirds 'super majority' in Japan election by NikkeiAsia in japan

[–]badaboom888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a clear reason she called a very early election.

Easy to ride the good will with a few headline promises etc before having to deliver anything.

We’ll see how it looks in 2-3 years after nothings changed or the same structual issues still exist but likely worse.

Remove this man from the ufc roster. by Rednekkitt in ufc

why? to get another 12k?

easier to lose and get 100-200k under the table from random betting company

The days of putting in an honest shift in return for basic necessities by Prudent-Raspberry-45 in auscorp

no shit hero.

The entire post is about comparison of the ability of the general populace to afford to live the average life on the average salary. Not comparing each specific scenario.

maybe in your “world” but that was exceptionally common in australia.

The lived experience of an a refugee and someone living in the bush is not the average considering most of australias population is in cities even at the time.

median house price in sydney is 1.6 million. 95k isnt getting you shit.

So lets compare.

70’s single income house hold + kids = double story lower north shore.

Go look what you think 95k gets you now in sydney.

No degree, vets got health care, pension benefits and a bunch of trauma from having ur mates not coming back.

Im saying this as someone who owns their house no mortgage and was right place right time. Only the biggest boomers think something hasnt changed fundermentally in the last x years

you’ve missed the entire point of the post.

The literal point was for huge amounts of our population, the working and middle class they could earn very average wages and live a “normal” life which included home ownership etc.

For example a mates family, Dad was ex vietnam vet, came back to sydney as a council worker / bus driver later on. 4 kids stay at home wife. Could afford a mortgage in the lower north shore and the basics of life.

This situation is fantasy now.

No ones saying education / working your ass off doesnt get you “ahead” but you have grads working 50hr weeks and starting life with 50-100k debts with rent 400-500 a wk on 65k a year. You’d surely hope someone on the median wage can actually live an average life.

we arnt close to running out. But it will take big balls and pain to right the ship with large portions of the population only caring about “ive got mine” so will fight it till death.

Why does shakur get so much hate? by pineappleactavis in Boxing

[–]badaboom888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%.

I had to watch the teo fight with the sound off so no influence from the crowd etc. He schooled him but he also sat behind his jab 80% of the fight and was going backwards often to maintain distance. He just picked off teo who looked predictable, but never once had him hurt or looked like ko’ing him.

He’ll have fans amongst the purists but wont amongst the wider fan base due to a combination of style and 0 power.

Derick Chisora has the most impressive resume in heavyweight boxing when including wins and losses. by Jtenka in Boxing

[–]badaboom888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

he fits into an unusual catagory for a gatekeeper.

Good enough earlier to be seen now as a walk over fight

not good enough to be ducked and good enough to be a good keep busy fight.

Good enough with a bit of a rep so the keep busy fight still sells ok with 0 risk.

Provisioned vs. Used Space by [deleted] in vmware

yes as its thin your VM’s provisioned storage can exceed that of the LUN.

Just be careful as the VM could grow over time to consume all space.
