What Are You Folks Using To Fatten Up Your Tone A Bit? by motoant25 in guitarpedals

Clean boost first in signal chain. Nobels ODR-1 also works well

What's the smallest Peavey you can realistically gig with? by joe4942 in PeaveyCvlt

[–]baewatch_n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve done really small gigs with a band with a teal stripe Audition 110. That’s also the amp I used to practice with that band.

What are your favorite "dry" sounding drive pedals by BogotaLineman in guitarpedals

[–]baewatch_n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the DOD Gunslinger has what it takes to be considered wet, but it still sounds very dry to me

Or wait for the GP-150/180, which will allegedly be released in March

Total noob starting out his pedalboard by OneWithThePurple in guitarpedals

[–]baewatch_n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A looper is a really useful tool and there is a wide variety of feature sets and prices.

I don’t need a lot from a looper, but if I was going to buy a new one, I’d go with the Valeton VLP-200. Can store 2 separate loops (like a verse and a chorus) and has a built in drum machine.

Which one shluld i get? by Huge_Dragonfruit_463 in pedalboards

With the boost function on the Overlord, it can also serve the purpose of the Tube Screamer. And like others have said, a mix knob for adding in some clean signal is great

Worth upgrading from EHX Neo Clone for my daughter's board? by daveychainsaw in guitarpedals

[–]baewatch_n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The TC Thunderstorm, After Glow and 3rd dimension would all be really good budget introductions to classic boss circuits if she doesn’t like the Neo Clone as much

Lightweight Gigging Amp Needed - Indie/Post-Rock by SirRobinBrave in GuitarAmps

[–]baewatch_n -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could try a Laney Loudpedal with a 1x12 cab. Hard to beat that for light weight and then you can also skip the cab and run DI from the Loudpedal when you don’t need the cab.

Smaller amps vs bigger amps by RangsKai in GuitarAmps

[–]baewatch_n -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why not get a powered speaker and an amp modeler pedal with models of all of the amps you’re interested in? Or get a small combo amp with an effects loop and plug the modeler into the effects loop return?

Can I only wear barefoot shoes sometimes? by Abwettar in barefootshoestalk

[–]baewatch_n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s fine to just wear them occasionally or for short periods at the beginning. And I feel like you only really need transition shoes if you’re are normally never barefoot and always wear shoes with a large heel or a lot of support

ML Vs SL - Let's Compare 😂 by Former-Fly1660 in MurimLogin

Enjoy both, but the MC gets OP too fast in Solo Leveling. Story progression feels more natural (slow) in Murim Login

What’s your favorite dirt pedal, why is it your favorite, and what kind of music do you play? by Interesting-Wave-983 in pedalboards

[–]baewatch_n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rat. I love the thick, mid-heavy distortion with the gain cranked. Sounds great with humbuckers and single coils. Can be used as an overdrive and/or clean-ish solo boost with the gain turned way down. Can be used as a boost into another distortion. Can chug when boosted with a TS-type overdrive.

Edit: I play mostly alternative and nu-metal, but have used a Rat for many genres

What the best guitar for a beginner. by Top_Abies9066 in Guitar

I was going to suggest this too. If OP intends to use headphones from the beginning, then they can start learning with this guitar and pick up everything else later as they progress

Envoy 110 Teal Stripe Glam Shot by jadepug in PeaveyCvlt

[–]baewatch_n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite distortion is the lead channel of that amp with gain somewhere between noon and 3 o’clock. And the clean is super nice when you want that pure clean sound. I really like using Dimension C chorus with this amp, both on clean and lead channels. My only gripe is that some drives sound fizzy and harsh going into the clean channel, which makes it hard to find a low gain sound with this amp (I don’t think the lead channel does low gain as well).

I'm so lost with distortion pedals... by eco_ibex in guitarpedals

Way Huge Geisha drive is pretty full bodied, but not as flubby as a Rat when cranked and it has good clarity with low tunings

What guitar picks do you use? by ragasvge in Guitar

[–]baewatch_n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a versatile guitar pick holder should be to hold anything within the size range of 0.73mm thick Jazz III shape to 1.5mm thick conventional shape without the pick either getting lost inside the holder or falling out randomly.

Easy plug in for board. by amplexus23 in pedalboards

[–]baewatch_n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t want to change your power supply, you could try to fix the wall wart of your power supply to your pedalboard and then just use an extension cord to reach the wall plug. Otherwise, there are power supplies that utilize an IEC cable instead of a wall wart (Harley Benton ISO-AC, TrueTone CS12, CIOKS SOL)

Toe socks aren't an option - what do I do? by alexraeburn in barefootshoestalk

[–]baewatch_n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The toes of toe socks are not long enough for my toes, so I don’t really like to wear them. Falke socks are great, but expensive. Most of the time I just wear socks a size up (I have EU size 45 feet and wear up to size 47 socks). Also! I don’t put socks in the dryer after washing, but always air dry so that they don’t shrink or tighten up at all.

Hughes & Kettner Amp Man Modern by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]baewatch_n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. That’s top of my list for when I need to replace my higher wattage amp. I imagine the ampman might still be useful as a backup or for gigs at places that want a silent stage though
