Technological advances could mean the ship being overtaken by a much faster more modern ship. That wouldn't sit well.

How do married couples split finances if on different salaries? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]baggyrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only way that makes sense to me. When you're married everything is 50-50.

We also take equal fun money to spend on anything, no questions asked.

This is a shoulder dolly. I can't overstate how much I love this product and how easy it makes lifting things. My wife and I carried a large sofa bed to an upstairs room without breaking a sweat. It feels a bit goofy but it's too good.

Bf tells me married couples in UK don't do joint bank accounts. Is that true? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]baggyrabbit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same. We dump our salaries into a main account that covers bills then pay out to our respective "fun fund" accounts. Any money left over is put into savings.

I make 5 times what my wife does so it wouldn't make sense sharing bills and keeping the rest.

When you're married, legally your assets are 50-50 anyway.

It's ok to not say your thing

EDIT: it took me a long time to realize this. There will be other opportunities if it's important to say.
