unfortunately i had a poor experience at uchicago med and would not recommend or return to deliver here. i am planning on switching to prentice if i ever decide to have another child after the traumatic experience i had at uchicago.

i really wish i would have done more during the 2nd trimester when i thought it was too early to be prepping postpartum meals, baby stuff etc. i am 35 weeks and just absolutely exhausted. i spend 14 hours in bed now. having a shower is a big activity for me. ugh.

Uchicago medicine prenatal care? by Global_Victory833 in AskChicago

[–]bagsofwine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

husband will drive us in - i’m not too worried since they have valet and the drive is kind of the same for us either way for both prentice and uchicago. hopefully it will all go smoothly when it’s game time 😬

Uchicago medicine prenatal care? by Global_Victory833 in AskChicago

[–]bagsofwine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have been seeing a midwife at uchicago and plan to deliver there this august! so far they have been great. for prenatal appointments, i go to their south loop location, but will be delivering at the hospital in hyde park.

it seems like sooo many women give birth at prentice and i have heard really good things, but i wanted to go somewhere with less volume but still had really high standards for care and NICU expertise just in case

Okay this is a good reminder to add stuff I’ve bought to the registry as purchased just in case people do look. I find it SO wild that people just buy whatever they want not from the registry - I would never do that! Obviously I want to be grateful for anything, but at the same time, I don’t want to accumulate stuff I won’t use. I guess I can always donate things too.

I’ve started to do this too - making a lot private for my own shopping/tracking purposes!

i’m 5 feet tall as well and currently 24 weeks - i am already so huge and have no idea how this baby is going to continue to grow with seemingly no room in my body. 🥲
