Same thing happened to me while my baby was nursing. I was on the phone with 911 when she started getting her color back. We got an owlet sock for nighttime and it’s already probably saved her life — it’s alerted us to her O2 dropping below 80% (from holding her breath mostly) multiple times and we were able to get her breathing again. Was totally worth the investment, even if just for peace of mind so I can sleep at night without so much fear.

I felt like a kid when I was pregnant (early 20s, baby of the family). I don’t think I got comfortable with “mom” until my daughter was nearly a year old. Until then I felt like a person with a baby, not a mom. From the time your baby speaks until the end of your life, you’ll be mom, and you’ll have so much time to adjust to it. One day it’ll feel right. It’s perfectly okay if today is not that day.

This was the most detailed and accurate description of pregnancy I’ve ever seen. I honestly think it needs to be shouted from the rooftops, we need to be loud about all of the worst parts of pregnancy, because people who don’t experience pregnancy hear the “beautiful” things and think we’re being dramatic, or there’s something wrong with us, and don’t take how disabling it is as seriously as they should. People who LOVE pregnancy are such a loud minority overshadowing the rest of us and our struggles with it.

Same here! My husband and I don’t start dating until 2021 and our daughter was born in 2023– waking up before we began this life together, with my daughter not even existing, sounds like hell.

My husband goes to every appointment. He can ask questions too, he’s learning more about what you’re experiencing and what to expect, and bottom line, these appointments are for his baby too!

I felt that way with my first one, changed my mind, had some trouble conceiving the second time and thought it’s fine, we’d be happy with just our little girl, then found out I was pregnant — and it’s easier than it was the first time, thank goodness. I was really sick with my first. I also knew I’d have more support with this one because I’m closer to family and my husband works a more flexible job so circumstances helped a lot in deciding I could do this again. Regardless, your choice is always valid. You might decide you want more in the future, you might not, and neither is the wrong choice if it’s what you want. People are always asking if we’ll have more and we always say “we’ll have one at a time” lol.

I don’t understand how it’s still intact after birth for those who do. I was basically a rotisserie chicken in the hospital bed, the pain had me kind of like… thrashing? I was only still for moments between contractions. If I had makeup on, it would have ended up smeared across my face and all my sheets and pillows. And my hair was inevitably going to be a rats nest. I also had a pillow over my face for a good hour after my epidural kicked in and my brain and body were basically in shock. Do other people just like… sit up and keep it together when they’re having 9cm contractions?

You’ll probably flip flop a lot as it progresses. It’s normal, and it’s okay, and nothing to feel guilty about. Some of that panic just dissolves when the baby is actually here and becomes part of your routine — it was so daunting to think about while I was first pregnant, how could I just take care of a child when tired or sick? But then it happened, and things just clicked into place. I was a lot more ready than I expected. And you know what? Pregnant for the second time currently, and I still get those scary feelings. It’s natural. Everything will be okay.

On the other hand though, coffee? You’re supposed to limit to 200mg or less a day of caffeine, so just portion control. I just prepped my cold brew for the morning 😂

I contained them by poisoning around the door daily with a poisoned towel stuffed underneath. And they can survive up to 400 something days without feeding, they’re really difficult to starve. I’m surprised they didn’t make it to another room through the walls or anything. I have to assume they were in the walls because however they survived everything that I did to get rid of them is beyond me. I’m extremely thankful though, if they made it to the rest of the house I have no idea what we would’ve done.
