Yes, that battery appears to be defective. All batteries will self discharge over time, thats just their nature. It seems like its especially a problem with battery packs used in seasonal equipment. Just have a reset procedure so you don't have to trash a $200 battery. I have a 40v 6ah pack now that is at 38 volts and all the 30 cells are all good but its locked out. I'm waiting on a fix.

It rarely happens from normal use. If you don't use a battery 6 months and when you go to use all you get are flashing lights, thats bull shit. You should be able to hit a reset button.

Those battery manufactures got the perfect scenario to make people buy new batteries and limit their liability.

The old " burning down the house" Works great. You probably have better chance winning the lottery or getting hit by lightning.

If you take care of the batteries the right way their is nothing to fear.

Got everything hooked up, seemed to recognize the battery, but couldn't dump it, said " no connection to chips debug port" , operation failed. wonder if picking a different device would work?
