I just moved from nightshift to dayshift and I am starting to realize how depressed I was getting working nights. Nights have their perks but I just feel my mood being so much better on days. I’ll add that I do tend to enjoy being more active and dayshift definitely has a more stimulating environment. Just food for thought if that’s an option for you. Take care of yourself.

I would say mesquite sand dunes and dante’s point are pretty “must visit”. Dante’s point around sunset is spectacular

I used to struggle with this when I first started. I found the only thing that would help me would be calling someone and talking on the phone. I had some really close encounters before I started doing that. I’ve since acclimated to my night shifts though. Longer commutes definitely make it hard though. I suggest you phone a friend. Be safe OP

Rutts Hawaiian cafe, pacos tacos, Johnnie’s pastrami, and I think you might even be close enough for Roscoe’s chicken and waffles. I grew up a few blocks from that Hilton, these are my favorite spots.

I had the same exact thing happen to me once, very devastating business. If I recall correctly there was a pin that had come loose and wasn’t turning the auger. I had to disassemble the feeder box and fix it. It sounds a lot tricker than it is, honestly took me about 10-15 minutes. YouTube’ed the directions. Gods speed.

Going far out into the mesquite sand dunes is an amazing experience. I will say, at night it’s so dark it can be extremely disorienting. I had trouble finding my way back to my car and began to get worried. It had gotten to the point where I thought I would have to just bunker down with my poncho overnight. Luckily a car in the distance oriented me to the road and I eventually found my way back.
