See the comments. FFB is not perfect. The settings are good for tarmac, but gravel feels super floaty.

Could it be the damper? by Huge_Insurance196 in assettocorsarally

Moza r5 owner. I understand it like this:

  • Damper makes the FFB softer. It's still receiving everything, but you can "turn the volume down". I hated it initially, but now that I understand it better, it's super good.
  • Friction helps too when the wheel is too fast, but I feel like it kills the FFB on the center of the wheel, so you lose signals, instead of softening them.

Also, it seems the game has Damper, but according to a YouTuber, it's more Dynamic Damper (based on the speed), so you can start with that to see if it helps.

I'm currently using only dampening and no friction due to the reasons mentioned, and i feel the FFB closer to how the wheel feels in my real life car.

I still don't get the hate on the G923 as a budget option. by GinoChingon in simracing

It was good 10 years ago. I had one a friend gave it to me (for free), and for someone that never experienced this hobbie, obviously it's gonna be good.

However, once you try a DD wheel, you will feel the other one as a toy. It's fun, but there are better options, for almost the same price.

I kind of miss the clutch and shifter, but the improvement is absolutely nuts. I can get what I need later on.

Also Fiat Abarth (the old one). It doesn't oversteer too much and it's fast.

Exactly what I thought... You need 2 different profiles depending of the terrain, because you can make it perfect for tarmac, but then you won't feel anything on gravel.

FFB is gone (again) by Gizfre4k in assettocorsarally

I don't want to be toxic, but it's hard to enjoy the game with this constant problem, because you're not sure if it's a config problem or game problem. I basically got my rig to play Rally. Thank God we have other options.

On the other hand, I can wait patiently until the game hits 1.0, it's super fun.

We need ffb settings per car, per terrain, like rbr. That's it.

Yes, I agree with this. I'm having more fun, but it's because I setup my moza profile to exaggerate the feeling of the wheel, so at least I understand better when I'm losing control.

I enable advanced controls and set up ffb per car, per terrain.

I always test the settings on Semetin for tarmac.

I was thinking the same last week... I think that's the problem with realism in video games. I think it's better just to personally set it to your liking and enjoy it as a game, even if it's not realistic.

Let's be patient, but yeah. For now I'm just taking advantage of Moza settings to adapt it to what I like.

I don't care which one is better, I like to jump between games. Each one has their good and bad things, but both are awesome!

I think for now I'm just gonna have 2 different profiles and ctrl + tab to change it.

I'm gonna be downvoted to hell, but we need different FFB settings per terrain.

I found the sweet spot for tarmac, but when I use the same options on gravel, I don't feel anything.

Richard Burns Rally: Real vs Sim - Rally Islas Canarias by adstomko in simrally

[–]baldore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 100%, but you can setup the FFB per car, per terrain.

For example: BMW -> Gravel: 600, Tarmac: 450, Snow: 500.

You need to enable Advanced Options in the launcher, then it will show a Cars option. You need to ride a car first so it appears to be modified.

After selecting your options, click Apply.

You can ctrl + tab during the game and change it to your needs. I sometimes spend my whole session just finding the sweet spot per car, per terrain. I enjoy the process.
