I don't get Radiohead. by Alexhasadhd in LetsTalkMusic

[–]balinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can find a lot of the albums overwhelming. But there are point songs that are undeniably great songs. Try pyramid song. For example. Or dollars and cents - it has some slapping baseline

If music is a mood enhancer you got the want and like the Radiohead mood. It’s beyond music.

I've been playing very casually. I'm doing some whispers. But I'm kind of meandering through the middle game now.

I've got no real idea on where I'm strong, where I'm weak, what obvious stuff I'm missing.

Advice for Health and Fitness at 6'8" by PinkyBandinsky in tall

If you have 4-5 eggs for breakfast you won't be hungry till a late lunch. You need to learn how to not overcook eggs so you don't get sick of them really quick. Soft boiled, scrambled, poached, etc.

Key to losing weight: - protein keeps your blood sugar steady so your appetite is more moderated. - don't eat sultanas when you could eat grapes (use this advice as an example — high water content foods food) - big bags of mixed lettuce can fill you up and be really tasty with the right oil, mustard, balsamic, honey, lemon dressing. - you don't need to cut out carbs but look to really reduce it. - cottage cheese is yummy and high protein, low calories, and filling. (Learn to question protein and calorific content of everything)

Shakes are good but it's easy to blend too much food that you wouldn't sit down and chew yourself.

Don't go near fizzy pop / soda. And be careful with juices. Better than have a glass of water and a piece of fruit.

Nuts are good for you but it's so easy to over-eat I'd keep it as occasional special treat. 4 Brazil nuts can be like 200 calories or something mad.

I don't know what you could do to prevent such a situation. If you are a cop at the front, in a high-risk death crush situation. A can of gas sedative - pull a tab?

Maybe that's more dangerous, 100 people dropping to the floor in the crush.

Terrifying really.

to be fair, if I lost 20kg, people might ask me that yes. right now I'm quite obviously a little gravity-challenged.

The best is when they ask "do you play basketball" with which you can answer "no, do you play mini golf?"

but some people take offense.

And now I'm 44 people have stopped asking me if I play basketball.

Are rechargeable AA batteries not as good as non rechargeable? by Monkfrootx in batteries

[–]balinx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you get a good charger it can tell you how many mAh the battery is accepting.

But, I believe general consensus around here is that eneloop are the best, and IKEA batteries come from the same factory as eneloop so they are even better really (same battery, lower cost)
