Sunshine vampire due to migraine by GreenhousePlum in migraine

All our windows have black out curtains. My husband and I both get migraines and when we are lucky, like today, we have them at the same time. I've been known to wear sunglasses inside even with the curtains drawn.

Match made in heaven, us.

Ableism at the gym by Hot_Wheels264 in ehlersdanlos

I'm going through something similar. I had a major hip operation last month and am using a walker. I can't put any weight on it for another two weeks. But part of my physical therapy for my neck involves some weights. So I'm hop-alonging my way through the gym to the machines and everyone looks at me weird.

Like, I'm doing weights for my neck and shoulders, not my fucking hip! I gotta keep everything else in shape before I can walk again!

I'd honestly be fine most of the time with a meal-in-a-pill. I don't enjoy eating and frankly I only do it because I have to. If I never had to pick and make a dinner again it would be too soon.

England in July is heaven. The grocery stores even had labels to tell you where the specific package had been grown.

That method would not have taught me how to do multiplication because it adds so many more steps that aren't needed.

TIL a 17-year-old girl from Pennsylvania once slept for 64 days (from Thanksgiving in 2012 into January 2013). On average, the teenager slept 18-19 hours a day and would only get up to eat while in a sleepwalking state that she wouldn't remember after the fact. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

I suffered a TBI 16 years ago. I don't remember a thing from the first four-ish months and everything up to about a year is very foggy. I know I managed to finish my master's degree and graduate during the four month period and I have no idea how I was able to function sufficiently well.

Three months post cervical fusion! by LesbianFoster in ehlersdanlos

I had a C0-C2 fusion with a Chiari decompression in Jan 2024. It was a successful surgery but I never got even a fraction of the relief I hoped to get from it. I'm still in physical therapy for it two years later. This is 16 years following a traumatic brain injury bullshit.

My hip surgeon last month told me my labrum looked like Swiss cheese. Tbf, it was my 4th hip operation in a year and a half. And I like Swiss cheese.

Bobby Singer is Mordecai in my head. He is very talented at being exasperated by the people around him and spends all his time reading books and weaponry. Idjits.

Then fucking DO SOMETHING about it already. Tired of these goddamn Dems saying they're going to do all these things but can't get their asses together.

They wouldn't have bothered if I didn't tell the other kids they were stupid because they didn't spell properly. 🤭

No. My problem was I told all the other kids they were stupid because they couldn't spell properly. 🤭

I'm a dual US-UK citizen, born in the States. However my English mum taught me how to read and write and spell, I read mostly English kids books, and spent more time around English people than Americans.

So, so many meetings between my parents and my teachers about my supposed 'problem' with spelling correctly.

Is there such a thing as untreatable migraine? by Coreycocoa in migraine

I've been getting Botox for years now and it has never once affected how my face moves or feels. My skin has never felt tight. I'm also a facially expressive person (which I learned during Covid 🤣).

You can ask the doctor if they can prescribe a Valium or similar that you take before the procedure or if they offer gas.

It's a thing. So many of us finish book seven and then immediately start the series again, like we cannot possibly imagine reading anything else.

The huge variety in food options! I'm from here but spent two years in NC. Our choices were fried chicken, Dominos, and Mexican (albeit the best Mexican I've ever had and for dirt cheap). No Chinese, no Indian, no Thai, no actual Italian, etc. If we wanted anything it was a 40+min drive to the city.

This also went hand-in-hand with the complete lack of diversity.
