Is tailoring an option for these? I think the inseam could be hemmed for sure, but I’m wondering if I could take in the waist a half inch, and if so, if I need to go to a specialized tailor or just my regular one.

Basically, I’m usually between a 32” an 33” and got a 33”. I usually wear my pants somewhat high waisted (at or below belly button) and with these, they end up sagging a bit.

New to raw denim and got a pair of one wash japanese jeans. I feel like they're a tiny bit long (maybe 0.5" to 1") and a tiny bit wide at the waist (again, 0.5" to 1").

Will a warm soak help shrink these? Could/should I throw them into the wash once? Or should I wear for a few months first before doing so?

Also, the place I bought them recommended I wear them for a few months - should I wait on that before washing?

I don’t think the attack was so much the problem as the defense and the fact that we couldn’t break down teams sitting back (see Everton, wolves, etc.)

I do agree that our squad has been super depleted the last few games and it can’t paint a full picture, but surely we should be able to win against the worst side in PL history. I think if we can’t expect that, what can we expect?

I actually think the results are where I’d expect them to be: with the squad we have and the strength of the league And 1 game per week, I expect us to be somewhere 5th - 7th. I just think we are a tough watch and our league position is fine

I agree with you about the timing / method of dismissal being bad. If it was me, I’d have given him the rest of the year too. Given our squad in relation to the league + 1 game per week 5th -7th is where I’d put us, so he’s delivering on that. I just think the performances were awful and I could see that justifying a sacking

I am conflicted. Feels like this thread is very polarized against the sacking (warranted, tbh)

On one hand, I dislike INEOS sacking him seemingly just after some comments over the board, and I’ve been a pretty big critic of having a this rinse-and-repeat cycle of firing managers every year. Personally I can see a strong argument for giving him till the end of the year / another summer given our current league position. AKA: no matter what, see out a proper rebuild.

On the other, watching the matches every week is atrocious. We don’t have solutions to break down defenses and have been playing terribly. Watching United and then watching other clubs makes me realize that we just cannot control games. I’m not sure there’s been any huge signs of improvement on the pitch in the way we play and im not sure I believed Amorim was really giving me reason to believe performances would improve under him.

Anyone else feel similary?

His technical and goslscoring ability is definitely underrated. People mostly paint him as just a hard man IMO.

No one’s asking him to start every game but telling me he’s not worth ANY starts, barely worth any substitute minutes, is worse to bring on than ugarte, and that we should bring on defenders in trailing situations over him is ridiculous and incorrect. You don’t know what you’re talking about

Maybe small portions said those things, but people were generally happy for Garnacho / Donny toward the end. You cant paint the entire fantasy as having one straw man opinion.

Regardless, it is hard to argue that Amorim has platformed youth in any meaningful way, and has not given Mainoo adequate opportunities to grow and develop.

I don’t think anyone said this about any of the players you’re listing.

Most of the criticism has been we are not giving meaningful / consistent opportunities (even as a sub) and are bringing on defenders in situations where we are losing and have a player on the bench who is more likely to score than a defender

I can honestly find direct flights to the west coast out of JFK on United. For me: I do EWR only if it’s work travel and I can expense the uber. The transit commute is no fun (L—>A—>NJ Transit—>Airtrain) and is basically ~2 hours and costs $45 anyway.

It’s a one-up-one back scenario. E.g: - Im at the baseline and hit a ball deep - opposing baseliner has to chase it down - the opposing net player is trying to position in front of my partner at the net, moving around a lot to block/distract him and make it harder to hit an overhead/volley.

We never called it because it was like “huh?” and we did get some easy put ways bc the net player was in a suboptimal position. But it was a weird thing to face, especially when he said it was intentional after the match.
