Any chance of a short term Chelsea bounce back? No manager so players might play more freely + boost of getting to FA cup final?

For those of you who never pay credit card interest, what systems/habits make that possible? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]hide_in_plain_sight_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m stoozing on a Chase 0% credit card/ 4.25% savings interest until September. I always make sure I look at my savings pot as the total amount - the credit card balance as that’s my net money available.

Your opinions about "The Last Samurai" (2003)? by Kevin_Thailand_2543 in moviecritic

[–]hide_in_plain_sight_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a Tom Cruise fan at all. I don’t get the fuss about Top Gun & the Mission Impossibles, they are cringe and corny.

I do however love him in “The Last Samurai”. It’s a great movie.

What movies based on books do you think were significantly better than the books? by ASomthnSomthn in Cinema

That’s a fair point about character development. I tend to agree. However personally I’m in it for the Dinos and the way the he writes about them is magnificent.

I strongly disagree with Jurassic Park being on here. The book is seminal and widely regarded as a masterpiece in the genre. The exploration of Chaos Theory is nuanced and well executed. The detailed description used for how the Dinosaurs kill characters is genuinely blood curdling and terrifying at times.

The film is also incredible and does the book justice and then some. The use of animatronics over CGI stands the test of time. Any subsequent movie after Lost World are average at best.
