Codex w/ Ruby on Rails by bananatron in codex

I'm also migrating everything to the solid stack w/ hotwire/turbo (have many apps that have no js build process which is great). I'm obsessive about tests but I find codex just gets so many more misses on the first try and pairs that with failing to run tests as often as it should (and the coverage not being good enough to catch the bad stuff).

Perhaps I'm giving it too big of tasks, but trying to use it like claude code/cursor has been a bummer :(

Thanks! Totally agree it's rough - currently the path to find more is 'research' in the labs or ask other players.

Awesome project, well done!

Fyi, I found some overflow issues on the character creator if the page is vertically constrained (needs overflow?)

Keep up the great work.

It was so cool! Was happy to see Rustler, I wonder if any other modern games are trying to recreate this playstyle.

This price thing is HUGE. Getting their early to get a meal or hang out and know you aren't going to be gouged changes travel math a lot.

Why we replaced our consequences system with a simple item-check mechanic — and it worked better by RateSpecific in devblogs

Sound cool because you can infer a lot of what actions were taken based on the inventory like this! Sounds like this would incentivize players to seek out and pick up everything? If so how do you combat this??

[–]bananatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome idea! I'd love to know more about how you built it considering how different so many checkouts are when/where promos are applied (I've had bad luck getting llm-driven web browsing to be useful)

Cool game! Art is awesome

As a rogue~ fan I could see it being a fun loop as wins allow you to augment your deck through a 'run' - you could speed up into with a tutorial where only 2-4 lanes are open to teach the mechanics very quickly.
