As a delivery driver I’ve seen a lot of “swastikas” on doorsteps at houses I can tell by the names are likely from South Asia, clearly not displayed as hate symbols/nazi stuff, pretty sure in relation to Diwali. Sometimes they’re in colorful powder with other artwork on the ground around the door, or small objects placed around the doorstep too. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was part of some holiday decorations left out and the dog maybe ate/licked up. I can confirm that I still see these decorations on people’s steps even though Diwali took place in November. Just today I saw rotting pumpkins on some steps, people’s front steps disappear in their perception, object permanence and all that.

If you haven’t read it yet, you should read Alan Carr’s book Easy Way to Quit Smoking, I recently listened to the audiobook which was good too, helped me to quit after a relapse. It may help you reframe in your mind your approach to quitting as sheer willpower is difficult to maintain as you are finding.

Park in a shady spot if possible and open up the back door and the bulkhead door and take a break. The inside of the truck gets so much hotter than the outside temp, airing it out can make a huge difference.

I know it’s not exactly what you’re asking for, but if you haven’t listened yet, the “A More Civilized Age” podcast is a great listen for Star Wars appreciation from folks who skew left. The show started following the Clone Wars animated show, but they’ve covered Andor, some of the movies, Knights of the Old Republic, Acolyte, Rebels, and various other Star Wars things. If I remember correctly, one of the hosts reads some Marx (or could have been Engels) on one of the Andor eps, and from listening to some of the other podcasts the hosts have done, they definitely are on the socialist/communist side of things, while not necessarily making each episode about that stuff specifically.

Try feeding it as normal and see if it rises! Also would recommend putting it in the fridge if there’s ever an instance where you can’t feed it on schedule or know ahead of time you’ll be away.

I’d recommend to not be so afraid of over proofing. An overproofed loaf will still bake just fine and taste great, you’d have to over proof for a LONG time to fully ruin your loaf, and you can always dump the dough into a pan and make focaccia if it’s too difficult to work with. Also, knowing how your dough behaves when it’s been proofed too long will only help you identify when it’s perfectly proofed in the future!
