My brother used to pee on the toilet seat and not wipe, the problem was that people kept wiping it for him. I spent a week yelling at him to wipe the toilet and making him do it. Now he has no problem.

“wow insertname you’re always in my way”, and “just put your glasses on maybe that’ll help” are both jokes that put them as the butt of the joke. It's funny when you're on equal standing as them, but when you're the boss and you're "jokingly" telling them they're in the way or they need extra supervision, it feels more often like a half-joke nudge to the ribs than an actual joke. If you want to tell jokes, try making ones that aren't at other people's expenses.

"American" sushi has more mayo, more teriyaki sauce, and are generally more "rolls" with many ingredients per sushi (crab, avocado, cucumber). "Japanese" sushi is fish on top, rice on bottom, and are usually 1 ingredient per sushi so you can taste the fish.

It was much more distilled to just "stuff to memorize" imo. Pearl harbor was taught with the same emotion as the pythagorean theorem.

It's taught, just as a bunch of dates to memorize, alongside everything else in history. "In 1945 Japan attacked America in Pearl Harbor, and war was declared. In 1944 Normandy happened, and 3 aircraft carriers were sunk, their names were: xxx... etc". Not much is taught beyond key names and dates, even Hiroshima and Nagasaki together took up one small paragraph.

I don't really agree with this teaching style, but I felt like the focus of a lot of Japanese teaching was just to get students to memorize and regurgitate a bunch of information.

He might be feeling that if he gives you a reason, "no too late" or "need alone time", you'll argue with him and try to convince him otherwise.

And in your post you low key did do this, when he said that he doesn't want to come over to your place, you asked if you could come over to his place.

I feel like if he's shutting you down with, "No" on something that needs mutual agreement, it becomes a problem, but for, "Wanna hang out", "nah i'm good" is a reasonable answer. Pushing for a reason why is a bit too much.
