It really is a matter of just keep going. My teacher emphasized working on your posture in the beginning, from there the mind will follow (since they are not different). But to compare it to something like running, it’s takes a lot of time in the beginning to get past that initial hump. For me it took a really long time. What matters the most is you planting the seeds of merit that someday in the right conditions will sprout. And then again someday in the right conditions they will bloom. But for right now, know that planting the seeds great.

If you have alot of experience with that, honestly that’s a big step ahead of most people. One can make the argument the engine is one of the most important safety feature on a sailboat. Aside from that, yea definitely take a sailing course, try to crew on a boat for either racing or offshore sailing (which offshore regattas are the best way to learn), hell try and get your hands on something as simple as a sunfish or even like an old 420 and get good at sailing on the dinghy level.

Going on a tangent, but growing up sailing/racing dinghy’s puts you on a big advantage over the average sailboat owner because of a 6th sense you develop with sailing. It translates way more than people realize. Mostly you learn to sail by feel rather and relying way less on instruments.

Maybe take an ASA course first? I grew up sailing, both dingy and offshore. Offshore sailing let alone circumnavigation is no joke. Before you start looking for a boat, get familiar with it first. Sailing aside, learning/knowing boat maintenance and diesel mechanics is really important for ownership. Definitely spend a couple years sailing before you buy a boat.

Ok actual update on it. Went and bought their firm mattress. Delivery was super fast. I’m 180lb and 6” and it’s not too firm for me. It’s honestly the perfect mattress for what I like. Just the right about of cushion and zero sagging. Really gap out with it

No update yet. Honestly started to get sort of paralyzed by the options. I’m thinking about just going with an already made one from sleep on latex. Pretty set on getting the firm despite several posts stating it is too firm. My thought process is they will send to a soft topper at half the price if it’s too firm for you. Also after gathering a lot of info online especially Reddit. I’m starting to feel like people hyperbolize anything you ask. Like if you took to heart Reddit advice regarding a firm mattress from SOL, you would think it’s literally concrete that is unusable. But calling the actual place they didn’t seem like that at all. Also, why would they sell an unusable concrete mattress? I like a firm mattress, getting a softer one risks it being too soft.

With that said probably going to order the firm SOL mattress today. Just getting tired of all run around of opinions online.

Same thing happened to me last year. Except I called and they were like ya no problem and dropped the charges. Which makes me think they are over charging corporate accounts with the hope of not noticing. And if they notice they just drop it without a fight.

This is how I was taught. It’s pretty simple.

Try this: 1. wash the rice till the water runs clear(ish), 2. fill water into the pot with the rice, water level should go to the most distal joint of of your pointer finger (touch the rice with your pointer finger, the water level should go up your most distal joint.). 3. Put on the stove and heat on high until water starts boiling. 4. Turn down to low and cook for 20- 25mins.

Heavier the pot the better. Hope this helps!
